Any and all of the blood fractions that a JW can accept can also transmit AIDS. Don't you understand that if blood contains the AIDS virus then anything you make from that blood - blood fractions - will also contain the AIDS virus.

Ask your doctor and also write to the Society and ask them: "If I accept a permitted blood fraction am I guaranteed that I will not contract a disease such as AIDS or mad cow disease."

ps: show us from the Society's literature where it tell syou that you will be protected from disease if you accept the blood fractions that are permitted. The level of disinformation in the JW community on this issue is criminal.

no it is not guaranteed that is why it is a concience matter and that is between u and god and how u feel on the matter

Dear trisha,

Before you stand up for what you believe, especially on life or death matters, you should find out what you believe, and why you believe it.

If you believe it because your mommy and daddy told you you should, that is not good enough.

If you believe it because the GB believe it, that is not good enough.

I used to "feel" that the GB's stance on blood was Godly from a biblical standpoint. When I finally reasoned on it, I was wrong. You too are wrong, and you are willing to kill you child over your "feelings" about the GB interpretation. That is not acceptable.

In order to reason on the matter, I had to humbly accept that I could be wrong. I had to swallow the embarrasing fact that my "feelings" and thoughts on the matter were not thorough, not logical. They were in fact borrowed from the GB. You can borrow some of my humility if you wish, I loan it out freely now days, to JW's.

This idea that blood should not be used for medicinal purposes is an insult both to God and humanity. It is death-dealing and it could only be putrid and disgusting to a God of love.

trisha, do you worship a God of love? Would a God of love find your worship acceptable if you put His symbol for life above life itself? Is life sacred?

I'm confused as to why you would tell trisha to "shut the fuck up", when she was very politely answering a question that was asked of active JW's.

And how do you know that the people in this discussion are better than her. Do you know her personally?

If I had been asked the same question about a year ago, I probably would have answered the same as she did. People come to different realizations at different times in their life, but that doesn't mean they are not as researched, not as sincere....etc.

She believes what she believes because that is what she needs to believe at this point in her life. And when or if she decides that these beliefs are not for her, that is when her thinking will change. But only she will know when that time comes.

I just wish people on this board would understand that there are two sides to every coin, and at one point you used to be on that other side or you wouldn't be here.

is that not why god promised the resurrection old age god is a god of love but he allows people to die from that when scientist are baffled as to why we grow old and die yes life is sacred hence the hope of resurrection

thankyou fro supporting me on that actually i grew up in the truth and left it for the last 6 years and just now coming back there was a point in my life where i felt as u all did but it took me reviewing my life and where i was going and what was in my heart as i hope all of u do at some point in your life there is one thing that i do know there is unity among JW's a unity u dont find any where else and it is truly a family i have missed i dont want to fight with any of u i hope all of u at some time will understand why witnesses believe the things they do
