Outlaw today is mother's day in the UK I know this because Sainsburys supermarket told me with expensive flowers and displays of cards. I've had a great mother's day with my kids homemade cards and cakes.

Nugget - isn't it wonderful to be able to finally enjoy one of the most special days for us? I know my JW mum always wanted us to make a fuss of her on this day, even though we weren't supposed to..... BUT would be still be quietly disappointed if we didn't....aaarrrggghhh. The last few years of being a JW I always got her a card anyway and she absolutely loved it, well, she actually cried every time...

Another_sad_day for JW mothers feeling everyone else around them is being recognised for the hard job they do, whilst having to pretend that they don't care about being left out and 'different' from everyone else (excluding those of course that secretly celebrate it anyway...)

JW`s over here don`t celebrate "Complain about your Mom Day..

Because ..

Mom the Baptist got her head cut off on that day..

JW`s also say they don`t need a special day to complain about thier mom..

They can complain about her all year long..

In the UK everyday is complain about your mom day. Well at least it is if you have a psychotic overly zealous JW mom like mine.

I agree it is great for the kids to feel that they are doing something special for their mum and it is being appreciated. My son was so excited that he had made me a mother's day bag at school with bows and stickers all over it. You could see how much he enjoyed doing this. In the past he would have done an alternative project and would have missed out on the whole buzz.

We don't have an official complain about your mothers day. My kids seem to find 364 days in the year to let me know why vegetables are not a proper food and how bed times are negotiable. Perhaps getting them to commit to just one day would be a refreshing change.
