How often did you hear that?
"Maybe Jehovah is telling you that it's not the thing to do."
"Maybe Jehovah is answering your prayer but you just don't see it".
"Keep praying. Jehovah will give you the direction you need".
Silly, wasn't it?

And maybe it's extraterrestrial beings contacting me from a far away galaxy.
It cud happen.
Funny how Jehovah telling me something is an awful lot like randon chance.
Yes, maybe Jehovah is telling me what I should do, but...
How come he didn't tell all those Haitians or Chileans to run? How come he didn't tell my best friend's dad that killing himself wasn't the answer? Was it their fault because he was telling them but they didn't recognize it?
I have no more patience for people claiming Jah's direction in the most trivial, petty, inconsequential matters.
For me, if it's not straight up, and clear as a bell then I don't pay much attention to it. All this 'smoke and mirrors', giving me 'signs' crap just doesn't work for me. If you want something, come out and say it. I really don't have the time for the mind games.
It always seemed like the people that said that knew more about what Jehovah was trying to say than he ever was. In fact, in 36 years, I don't think I ever got a clear answer on what he wanted specifically, and certainly not his opinion on my job choice or vacation destination. Seriously.
Jehovah has never spoken to me. I asked him to lots of times. I am easy to contact too, two landline phones, two mobile phones, three E-mail Addys an Ethernet (VOIP) phone and I am home most days.
Still nothing. If He doesn't speak, he cannot tell me anything.

Simple, and true.
There are an inordinate amount of people who use that phrase to advance a personal agenda...I used to look for what they'd gain by me 'listening to Jehovah'.
It was a childish way to try and make a point.
When you think about it - it was actually TOTALLY INSANE!
--------memories---------
I remember when a friend of mine got hit in the face with a frisbee soon after he declared he wasn't going out in the service the next morning, all of us concluded that Jehovah was "trying to tell him something". Quite insane when you stop and consider it. Imagine if God was real and he actually took the time to cause someones hand to miss the frisbee so they would get klooned in the face? Pretty nutty.
