Finally got my memorial invitation

  I had a message left on my cell phone letting me know about the Memorial on Tuesday night. It was some local elder whom I've never met. I can only guess that he got my cell number from my oldest brother.

  I found it rather condescending the way he actually described to me what the memorial was, as if I'd never attended one before. He also said he would like to meet with me first, before the memorial.

  After careful deliberation, I've decided to pass on both invitations. I haven't been to a meeting in over 4 years, and don't plan on breaking that streak any time soon.

  I got mine in an e-mail, telling me that I needed to reconnect with Jehovah and what a wonderful opportunity it would be for my husband to learn about the JWs. And, as an added plus, since so many people go to Memorial, it might not even be in the KH!!

  Whoopee!!

  I declined with my silence.

  I'll drink a glass of good red wine at home and have a toast with my husband as we watch TV.

  Sure. That way I can have the pleasure of tearing it up, or setting it on fire. Pressing the delete button was somewhat satisfying, but not quite the same.

  I guess jehovah doesn't love me anymore.

  My husband found that waste of paper upside down on our doormat. I doubt it was from anyone I know, just their normal door-to-door campaign. It was the first time in 3 1/2 years of living here that I've found evidence of any JW activity in the neighborhood, which I find interesting as there are a decent amount of them around here, and this would be a very easy territorry to work as there are sidewalks, a ton of houses close together and it is in fairly close proximity to the KH.
