Here's a college football story Sylvia's probably hear some version of:
Auburn is playing Bama and getting trounced by the Crimson Tide. One spectator is an Auburn fan another is a University of Tennessee fan.
UT Fan: "Hey, does A-U-B-U-R-N stand for anything in particular?"
Frustrated & demoralized Auburn fan: "Yeah. It stands for Alabama Usually Beats Us Rednecks."
A minute passes.
Auburn fan: "So, what's UT stand for?"
UT Fan (sheepishly): "Us Too."
OM, I think I've heard them all.
I'm partial toward Alabama because I was accepted to go there.

Maybe Saban is revered in Alabama but as Keyser mentioned above, he is viewed as a douche (or much worse) by many people.
He came here with all the glory to coach the Miami Dolphins (NFL, that's the real football league where men play) and in two years he got chewed up and spit out. He lied, quit and ran off to Alabama when the heat was on in the kitchen.
It's one thing coaching guys coming out of high school (which he does very well).
But when it comes to the big time, the 6'4 300 lb. multi-millionaires in the NFL never took the little guy seriously.
He may coach college, high school or little league with the boys very well, but is a failure with professional men.
Rub a Dub
Some Alabamians are still wary of Saban.
However, his team won the SEC and the national championship.
That's all that matters - to some.
