Hasn't the WT copyrighted the name 'Jehovah' yet...?

In fact, if the Catholic Church 'registers' the name 'Jehovah (as it could prove the source of the name), could it sue the WT every time they used the name...? Lol

Heh.
Garrison Keillor used it on "Prairie Home Companion" Saturday night.
Perhaps Guy Noir is the real "faithful and discreet slave"?

dgp got it right!
The Jews have always known the name "Jehovah" was an English Christian translation error (which was caused when they wrote YHWH with vowels added in such a way that it was intended to make the name unpronouncable in Hebrew). In our present century almost every scholar has accepted that "Jehovah" is indeed a mistaken word from the Middle Ages and have abandoned it (though some die-hards and some uniformed Christians keep it going).
"--for you shall not worship any other god, for the LORD [YHWH], whose name is Jealous , is a jealous God--
(Exodus 34:14)

it is pretty obvious other people use that name. but some jws use that to their advantage to show that they are in" the truth"

We know that Jesus was the greek rendering of Jesus's hebrew name.
We do NOT know what YHWH was.
We do know that the vowels of Adonai and/or Elohim were used in the place of YHWH so that thsoe reading it woudl say either Adonai or Elohim instead of trying to say the Name YHWH.
We also know that when Jesus, the son of God, the WORD of God, taught how to pray he said, "Our Father".
He did NOT say specififc name but used a specific word, "father" and even in his own prayers he woudl say Father or "abba" ( Daddy or Papa would be a close equivelent).
You'd think this would carry some weight for Christians...

Other religions use JEHOVAH, sure, but not to the extent that JWs do.
Here's the issue with JWs even using it anymore... as already point out, JEHOVAH is incorrect. It is not God's name. It's a bastardization.
Now the JWs like to point out that it is so common now that it is 'accepted'. Now, I'm sure that's okay for some piddly religions that are not claiming to be God's exclusive channel on earth, but the WTS/JWs are. They are the ones to claim to have "truth" that no one else has. Only through association with JWs can you understand the Bible and the prophecies coming true today.
Now...if this religion is so intent on sharing TRUTH with everyone they meet, wouldn't it behoove them to at least attempt to use the correct pronunciation of God's name? They're the ones that insist that we MUST use his name.
If you're name was Robert but people kept calling you Blobort wouldn't it get frustrating after awhile?
They can't change now though. Two reasons... why re-brand what has, for the most part, been a successful brand name? Another reason is that to change now would be an admittance of having made an error. Even as indoctrinated as most dubs are, they would still have to pause and wonder why the change and does that mean we weren't really worshipping the TRUE god?

The name "Jehovah" appears many times in Verdi's Opera "Nabucco".
As for Jesus' Hebrew name of Yeshua, it should more properly be rendered as Joshua. Actually it could have been Yeshua ben Yosef since he was the "son of Joseph".

All.
Probably, the meaning of this topic is not "inaccurate pronunciation Jehovah."
That this topic has said that not only Jehovah's Witnesses but other religions use the Divine Name (In particular, "Jehovah").The explanation "Jehovah is inaccurate" makes this topic boring.
First of all, the name "Jehovah" expresses the Hebrew text (Yehowah, Yehovah) in English as it is.
Therefore, though that pronunciation is not correct, that is written on the Hebrew text.possible
