give you an example: There was a hoiler than thou, devout couple in my cong who had a son. The son aged about 5 had chicken pox, they took him to the meetings, never missing one so that he would learn that you did not miss a meeting!

The result was several of the infirm and eldery ones contracted either pox or associated illness like shingles. Oh what a loving lesson!

And i lost count of the amount of times i had a JW choughing and spluttering over me as they tried to "encourage" me. What a clean people they are!

How about a sister going door-to-door while having her face and head wrapped up due to recent - and I mean recent - dental work?

The householders were like, "is she crazy, or what?"

i thought it was horrible when they put a young single ms in a car with a bunch of single pioneer sisters once. all of the sudden, those poor sisters started getting sick in the morning and had to buy looser fitting dresses after a few months.

I frequently saw people show up for meetings when obviously sick or bringing their kids who were sick and it always used to irritate the crap outta me. Stay home for crying out loud!!

I have gone to the boasting sessions myself with colds--and I have seen others do the same. However, I would not go out in field circus while I had an obvious cold because it would make the householder think we are spreading Spanish flu or tuberculosis (or AIDS) along with the Kingdumb message.

Good thing the slimebag that dragged me into the cancer ran out of time on me before that stage.

I always thought it was so self-righteous to go to the khall with colds and other infectious diseases.

Which is why I did it for a while. I thought it made me look good. I was all about the good impressions

    Are you people serious?

You really think these people were trying to infect others on purpose?

Chicken POX is usually not picked up by adults because most have already had it and have enough anti-bodies to fight it off.

The sister going in service wrapped up is a little over the top, but over-enthusiasm isnt evil people.

There are sick people around you all the time. You want people to just isolate themselves everytime they get a sniffle? There are obviously circumstances and certain diseases they should do this, but for the most part teh best way to feel better with a cold, is to go about your regular routine if you can.

Infecting others is a by product of not missing a meeting when you are sick with an infectious disease.

I agree going about your routine if you have a minor cold, but we are talking about stuffing 100+ people in one small room, sitting elbow to elbow with sister Sneezealot where no one can help but breathe on another.

We are not talking about doing errands and such.

And, yes, we people are serious. No one likes to catch a cold from some nincompoop who didn't have the brains to know just how infectious a cold is and therefore infect 100 people.

I'm sick with a cold now and it is MISERABLE!

While I am sure nobody intentionally wants to infect somebody else, I observed that many JWs were unwise and inconsiderate to attend meetings and/or assemblies when they really should be home in bed on antibiotics. They really had no business being in public. There was a certain sickly brother I hated to work with because every time I was in a car group with him I ended up with an upper respiratory infection.

It was even said that at district conventions some sisters attended soon after having surgery whereas they should have been at home convalescing. If one of these people had a mishap they would end up in the First Aid station. Is the First Aid station supposed to double as an ER? This is ridiculous, really.

There was a lot of unwise behavior.
