So they supposedly planted conventional explosives in three fully-occupied office buildings (taller than any buildings ever demolished by CD), without anyone ever noticing (ha ha yeah right), and did whatever other "fakery" aimed to fool Americans into going into war (but NOT a war into Iraq), and yet they utterly failed to plant a single WMD in the vast expanses of Iraq, where there would've been no eyewitnesses to notice anything, thereby opening themselves up to ridicule and unwanted questions unnecessarily.
Sure they could've lied about intelligence, or exaggerated intelligence, or even covered up intelligence about 9/11, just as they did about Iraq and WMDs, but that is very different from completely fabricating the events themselves. The ridiculously implausible MIHOP theories of 9/11 are silly in of themselves, but the failure of the government to do the same thing in Iraq (where it could've been done way more plausibly) does not help CT claims.

How much money was spent investigating 9/11 has nothing to do with whether or not the government played a role in it. This is a red herring......leavingwt

The problem, for me, with conspiracies such as this is that it requires a very large number of people to be utterly wretched human beings with
no conscience or recrimination about participating in the deaths of men, women, children at random who are innocent of any wrongdoing.
To believe that each and every one of the people involved is completely trustworthy in keeping the secret (when they could earn millions divulging facts for cash) is equally preposterous.
Remember, we are talking about Americans turning a blind eye to the death of Americans. Not one whistle-blower hesitated to go along and stop the carnage by leaking to the Press?
The most private, secret and personal deeds rapidly find their way into the public eye in no time at all! Nobody keeps such secrets! President Clinton and Monica Lewinsky's sexual trysts were the easiest thing of all to conceal and yet all the details came out. Why? Nobody keeps such secrets!
100 Million was spent on dragging Clinton through the mud because it was politically damaging to a Democratic president and the blowback (pun unintended....honest...) would give the opposite party access to power for at least four and maybe eight years afterward.
Bush was equally treated with scorn and bad press so that the power could again be reversed.
That is a side issue....
The only real reason given for 9/11 and Weapons of Mass Destruction being faked is as a PRETEXT to go to war and take out Sadaam Hussein.
Here is what makes this silly and unnecessary: OPERATION DESERT STORM brought the American army to the outskirts of Baghdad and permission was asked to go in and take out Hussein. This would have easily been accomplished. It was President Bush Sr. who refused.
Isn't this the very same family which supposedly ordered the Conspiracy? Does not compute.
Every major event in history invites more questions than can be comfortably answered. This vacuum causes a rush to judgement by over-active imaginations, haters, contrarians and loose cannons.
Unless you are always willing to think the worst, believe the worst and promote the worst in human behavior on the part of others it says more about the BELIEVER than it does about the phantom conspirator to incite such stories toward credible acceptance.

Will someone please explain how the cost of an investigation is related to the accuracy of the conclusions?
Regarding the 4 million, that was the original amount. The Commission asked for and received more than 4 million. (Still, it wasn't anywhere near the 100 million spent on Monica.)
If it makes anyone feel better, the government spent billions on the cleanup and the repairs to the Pentagon.
Now that mess is coverd up..
We're still waiting on some evidence of this. But, if it's covered up, I guess we'll never get it.
