who had a child molester in their congregation ?

  We had 1 in our congregation- JD- he was an elder for many years. One of the victims friends learned of the abuse and went to the elders with the information. An investigation was opened and several young men came forward to confirm that it was indeed true. The man was DF'd after a lengthy investigation. He denied any wrongdoing. One of the young men he molested committed suicide before the abuse came to surface.

  He was DF'd for about 5 years and was reinstated. He never faced any criminal charges.

  We had three, one moved away. I just spoke with an elder and he told me I would be hard pressed to find a hall in my city without one in it. Sick

  There was a family in my old congregation who suddenly moved away.
  In fact I and my family knew them well, the father was an Elder.
  My wife was best friend of the wife.

  I lost touch with them after I had left.

  They had a son, maybe about 16, at the time.
  Even my own daughter told me later, this son was known as the "child molester" among the other kids.
  They moved about 200 miles away.

  Say about 4-5 years on, through a JW I knew, I heard that this young guy had married a JW sister who had a young boy.
  After about six months , she caught him abusing her young boy.
  She called the police.
  Consequently all hell broke loose, and lots of bad publicity for the JWs in the area.

  Later turns out that this young guy was friendly with another JW who was exposed as a paedophile.
  By the name of Porter, he had been doing it for 14 years.
  Also had been an Elder at Mill Hill congregation in London.

  Forgot to add

  In a recent mail from an old JW friend.

  When he was an Elder, he discovered a paedophile in his congregation.
  The guy was even a Min Servant.
  The other Elders knew, but hadn't told my friend , or anyone else.

  My friend told London Bethel, they sent someone up to sort it out.
  (I always mean to ask why didn't he tell the police?)
  The guy was removed , can't remember if the DF'd him as well.
  The other Elders then refused to have anything to do with my friend.
  So he eventually left, never went to a meeting again.

  That was about 4-5 years ago.

  Anyway he went to this years Memorial.
  Not in his old KH but another local one.
  And there was the paedophile.
  A Min Servant again.
  Also serving the bread and wine.

  My friend said it made him feel sick.

  Had one in mine growing up. He's still in good standing with the cult and goes from cong to cong.

  I have known a few in my congregation and outside. The ones that worry me more are the ones I don't know about in any congregation or outside. At work, it was found that one man was on the sex offender registry and administration had not said anything. He had already ingratiated himself into one single parent family and been invited to their house because no line employees were aware of his status. He did have his probation revoked and he went to prison all the while the administration said they were not obliged to tell us.

  So there are molesters everywhere, identified and not identified, in jw congregations and outside the congregation, in the schools, the boy scouts, at your place of employment, at the supermarket, coaching a community team, etc.

  There was one for sure in the first congregation I attended. In my second hall, I didn't kno of any child molesters, but there were two wife beaters and a rapist.

  There was a PO of a neighbouring congregation who stepped down when he went through a divorce and moved into ours. He did lots of sports etc with our youngsters.He was often round at our home. My sons went on a camping trip with others with him. While they were away I got a bad feeling and drove miles and brought my sons home. A couple of years later he was found guilty of sexual assault on a minor.

  In another cong I was in there was an elder, a right pain in the rear, so self righteous. His young step daughter suddenly went off the rails in her teens, next it came out he'd been abusing her. Then it came out that he'd also abused 2 of his younger sisters. This highly respected elder & pioneer had been at it for years and years. Disgraceful. He went to prison.

  On the quick build team I was involved with there was a an elder who had oversight of security, and I was on his team. This elder was prominently on the assembly platform etc. He was abusing 2 of his daughters who eventually rang Childline and when the police went to his home with search warrant they broke into a locked room and found a ton of child porn etc. He went to prison.

  When I saw the thread I thought 'well we didnt have any...' and then I started to remember...bad isnt it? Now I'm concerned that any of them could be on here...no offence to others though...

  Every congregation I have been in has had at least one.....

  The first one was the worst - the grandfatherly elder who loved the little girls...............
