Hmmmm... jaguarbass, this is an interesting story. Perhaps part of the issue is that negative energies are attached to you from your work. Perhaps you could do a cleansing before coming home and interacting with your dogs. Naturopaths have a method they use after doing touch treatments. My parents naturopath said that after you touch someone whom you've been treating that is ill (this was my Mom), shake both hands several times like you would if you were trying to shake off excess water. Then wash your hands. There may be other methods. You could look into doing something like this. I don't know how valid all of this is but this site has some suggestions:

My ex has 2 cats and one of them was having a lot of psychological problems after being traumatized by a dog. She would literally 'scream' and pant and run and hide. She wasn't eating. It was so bad he wanted to have her put down. I talked him out of it... even offered to take her for a while so he could have a break.
I suggested to him that his cat needed a psychologist. I asked him to call a particular vet we used to use who had moved away. I found her ad in my local community magazine and asked him to contact her because she made house calls and one of her specialties was psychology.
Well, she came out and assessed the cat. She said the cat is a 'passive-aggressive' personality type and that they could put together a plan. This plan worked, btw.
Part of the plan was behaviour modification (when traumatized cat started being aggressive, she was separated from the other cat behind a cage for a period of time -- kind of like a 'time out'), another part was to use verbal correction on both cats when they were fighting beyond acceptability, part was using a pheromone spray, and the other was to put bells on both cats so they both know when each is 'sneaking' up on the other (as cats will do). She has improved immensely and is not longer 'screaming' and panting and being paranoid to the point of illness.
