I have questions, but I don't want to hear all the reasons a belief is ridiculous. I want to hear it from the source. I don't want the unbiased response. I want the response that is bias in favor of the religion - if that's not too much to ask.

Q: What exactly do Jehovah's Witnesses believe?
A: They believe that Jesus is soon going to slit your throat in the War of Armageddon.
Jehovah's Witnesses aren't really in the BELIEVE business; they are in the DO WHAT THEY ARE TOLD business.
Their main function is to be High-Profile contrarians who are AGAINST whatever the local church is FOR.
They are glorified "grunts" shlepping really poorly written screeds door to door. They take propaganda to people.
The so-called "witness work" is just putting head-scratching nonsense into the hands of householders who couldn't care less.
Jehovah's Witnesses live cartoon lives not real ones.
They pretend to be happy while suffering depression.
They pretend they are loved while being treated indifferently.
When they have problems they are marked as spiritually sick.
When they have questions they swallow them like bitter medicine.
Ever go to a circus? See the Clown Car? That's the inside of a JW's head. It is full of clowns stuffed into too small a space.
You can't take their "beliefs" seriously because they are pretzel twisted laughable.
I desperately feel sorry for them because........get this.......these people will sincerely DIE to prove they are worth something to their Daffy Duck in the sky Deity!
That is outrageous.
***I do have Watchtower missionaries come by, but it's much easier to ask questions on an anonymous forum than face-to-face.***
what on earth makes you feel too uncomfortable to ask them about their beliefs?
***I've discovered that the worst source of information about a religion is from those who were members but left the faith. Generally, they are bitter about some doctrine, practice, person, or trend, and that bitterness always comes out in their "explanations" of what the faith believes.***
that is totally word for word jw speak of why you shouldnt ask anyone who used to be a jw about jws and or beliefs.
Information Control
Those who control the information control the person. In a mind control cult any information from outside the cult is considered evil, especially if it is opposing the cult. Members are told not to read it or believe it. Only information supplied by the cult is true. One cult labels any information against it as "persecution" or "spiritual pornography", another cult calls it "apostate literature" and will expel you from the group if you are caught with it. Cults train their members to instantly destroy any critical information given to them, and to not even entertain the thought that the information could be true.
Common sense tells us that a person who does not consider all information may make an unbalanced decision. Filtering the information available or trying to discredit it not on the basis of how true it is, but rather on the basis of how it supports the party line, is a common control method used throughout history.
Okay, I get it. For some reason I thought this was a forum created by active Jehovah's witnesses. My mistake. I'm out.
Thanks for your responses, though.

Chas,
There are many, many active JWs on this site. They must 'pretend' to believe, or face the consequences of severe, instutionalized shunning by family members and long-time 'friends'.

"Loading the language" is another common theme in a cultic setting. A special jargon that gives the members a feeling of exclusiveness and that they possess some esoteric knowledge. This "loadedlanguage" helps build solidarity amongst an elite group that speak the same cultic verbiage/lingo. It also gives the newcomer yet an extra incentive to become more involved with the group--in order to learn this language and understand what everyone is saying. Loaded Language is characterized by "thought terminating" buzz words and phrases that constrict thinking and typically replace any meaningful and independent critical analysis. This can become overwhelming and dominate the member's speech and conversation--while also binding the group together through their common language.
