That photo was taken by my daughter, she spent part of a summer with a family that runs a summer lodge inside if the Wrangell St Elias National Park. The girl in the picture is Elle Claus, her parents own the lodge my daughter was at. Elle is the youngest female to ever complete the 1049 mile dog race, The Iditarod.

The next photo is also one my daughter took on that trip. Her and some of the other girls were walking on a glacier a few miles from the lodge

I have a thing about trees lately (it used to be sunsets but now it is trees) This is one of my favs

    favorite tree

I love the spread of the branches.. It just feels very graceful to me.

The next pictures was taken about 2 kilometers from Canada's Parlament buildings in downtown Ottawa. The bike path follows the Ottawa River for 60 KM. It is protected greenspace and a wide range of wildlife consider it home. It was on the other side of this river that I saw a wild beaver the other day. And I have seen Great Blue Herons (last year and adult and two young birds close to her.

    This isn't really a landscape "I Guess"?

It's a bump of ice on Knik Glacier. My picture is really lame at showing how tall that ice had pushed up, I'd guess it was about 40 feet tall from where the foot tracks end. I wasn't dumb enough to stand any closer.

    om,

Having Roebling's marvelous bridge in the left side of the picture makes up for the tacky urban blight on the right!
