"April: The Watchtower and Awake! magazines. Where interest is found on return visits, subscriptions may be offered."

    ------

What's the lead time for material published in the KM? Was the decision to discontinue subscriptions made so recently---possibly just prior to the announcement at the Nov-Dec KM schools?--- that this entry was not able to be deleted from the January KM announcements?

not sure on the exact lead time , but that is the problem

when the wt went to the complete donation i recall the week before we were offering literature on the service at a cost and then the letter came in and the week was so arkward cause the part and demo that was due that week had the price of lit-

but when the CA court came down with thier rulling i recall that the society came out and said that the lit was free- by using the phrase " at no cost or charge" can't remember which one exactly ,but i do recall the reaction of the Society-

the wt not realizing that thier avg member has a 8th grade education
(ok High School) at any rate none of us understood the "LEGAL" need to use the right word

so all the friends were saying THE LIT IS FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

and within a week ther was a followup letter that clearly stated for us not to SAY FREE

you got to love the boys at the house

From what my parent's told me, they still can offer subscriptions to the mags. The only difference is that now, they would have to faithfully go out and hand deliver the mags every week.

I love the months where the offer is the Revelation book or any 192 page book from 1987 or before that the congregation has in stock. mmmm.... truly fresh meat in due season!

The Bible is over 2000 years old and yet its message is timely, fresh and exciting.

Although the 1987 or older publications seem “older” to Jehovah’s people, they are fresh and exciting to good-hearted ones who have never learned of God’s Kingdom. Hence, for these people, the information is timely.

Good Lord, that sounds fresh out of a KM! So, how far back can you go?

The Great Pyramid has timely information because of it's divine construction. Through it we can calculate the time of Jesus' enthronement in 1875 as well as the advent of Armageddon in 1914 -I mean 1918 -I mean 1920 -I mean Jesus was enthroned in 1914. (We were right even though everything we said about the year was wrong!) Did I say 1920, I meant 1975 -I mean before this generation of 1914 passes away -I mean before the end of this century -I mean REALLY REALLY SOON NOW.

Oh, did you die because we told you that hemophiliacs couldn't get clotting protiens from blood? or you couldn't get that kidney transplant? or you couldn't get that albumen to help your body cope with burns? or you couldn't get that stem cell transplant? I'm sorry, (I suppose you'll get resurrected because you faithfully died believing a lie/old truth) all those things are OK now, but this is timely!

After all we were separating the sheep from the goats until 1995 when we found out that the separating work will be at Armageddon because Jesus COMES with his angels and is UNEXPECTEDLY coming at Armageddon to kill you if you don't join. This is timely good news! NO NO NO!!!! Don't try to apply that same logic to Matthew 24!!!! You would get that the faithful slave and wise virgins would be chosen at Armageddon too!!! I know it says that the master COMES unexpectedly to choose the Faithful Slave but that doesn't apply at Armageddon because that happened at his PRESENCE which was in 1914 which wasn't unexpected at all. DON'T THINK ABOUT IT, JUST DISMISS IT!!! And this information is TIMELY because it is PRESENT TRUTH and contrasted with PAST TRUTH which is really not truth even though we say it is. It is TIMELY!!!

These things are timely fresh and exciting to good-hearted ones who are forced to limit association with their family that Jesus is going to kill REALLY REALLY SOON NOW unless they join before he comes unexpectedly to label them goats and foolish virgins and wicked slaves and destroy them all. (Oh, wait! He did that in 1914 or some such year -didn't he?)

Publications that do not reflect all of the current teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses can still be life saving. If an older publication stirs interest in the Kingdom message, or starts a conversation that leads to interest, then a life-saving work have been performed. Current teachings will be learned as the householder progresses along the road to life.

Placing older publications shows appreciation for the hard work and self-sacrifice of our brothers and sisters. We try to use any donated funds wisely. Placing an older publication makes good use of even the “widow’s mite” by reducing waste. This way, we can show that Jehovah and his Organization appreciate even the most seemingly insignificant donation to the worldwide work.

    SpinDoctor,

Did you really have a hard time typing as you were laughing so hard at the total nonsence you were writing??

I suppose publishing older publication's material on the Internet without bothering to update it (see www.watchtower.org) also shows appreciation for the old codgers who wrote the stuff. I think it is shameful that 6 years after the change the WTS is still telling people via the Internet that the dead generation of 1914 would still be around before the end...(did the end come invisibly and I missed it?)

Spin is just doing his/her job.
