Closing the barn door after the horses have fled

The above paragraph--that the planet will never be destroyed or depopulated--is a lie. Now, it will not happen directly because of God (He needs us to entertain Himself and so He can have something to watch suffering while He eternally promises deliverance; destroying all mankind would defeat that purpose). However, the sun has its life cycle. Once the sun runs out of gas, it will expand. The inner planets will be swallowed up (some scientists expect it to reach Jupiter). For sure, if the earth isn't swallowed up, it will be incinerated and become too hot for life to survive. At which point, the planet will be depopulated.

And, even if we survive this, once the sun goes out, it will become a white dwarf. If the earth is still around, it will now freeze. We will have an ice age like nothing we have ever experienced, and all the "global warming" in the universe is not going to do it any good. Sunlight will be missing. The sun will appear as a tiny point at this point, giving us nothing but night. There will be nothing to eat, and no sources of energy. It is only a matter of time before all energy will run out, and any humans alive at that point will suffer the greatest energy crisis imaginable. Eventually, anyone that survives the inferno will freeze to death.

And Jehovah ain't gonna lift a finger to stop it.

    Hi Jgnat

Long time no see. How are you doing?

I thought maybe the word "some" everyone is noticing might be a typo and you meant "none". JW's have never taught that they would be personally involved in the elimination.

Some of Jehovah's servants will be involved in the elimination of the wicked

I'm hoping that this is just a verbalization of David Pesch's wet dreams. However, I've also speculated for a very long time that, at some point in time, JWs would feel the need to mobilize and take matters in their own hands to eliminate people they deem to be "wicked". Public statements like this need to be documented, because all it takes is one desperate mentally off-balance listener to hear this message and act on a long-standing urge to "save" their loved ones from being destroyed at Armageddon by murdering them.

Individuals who make public statements of this nature need to be monitored because they are inciting hate crimes. Well, I suppose they'd argue that it's actually an act of Love™ to kill people they are trying to save, but it's the ideology that allows for such judging of the private lives of other people and calling for their destruction that constitutes the hate crime.

Don't forget that the WTS itself published thoughts along the lines of if it weren't for those pesky laws of Caesar, we'd be able to carry out theocratic justice and kill apostates and wrongdoers.

    *** Nov 15, 1952 Watchtower ***

We are not living today among theocratic nations where such members of our fleshly family relationship could be exterminated for apostasy from God and his theocratic organization, as was possible and was ordered in the nation of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai and in the land of Palestine. "Thou shalt surely kill him; thy hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt stone him to death with stones, because he hath sought to draw thee away from Jehovah thy God, . . . And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is in the midst of thee."-Deut. 13:6-11, AS.

Being limited by the laws of the worldly nation in which we live and also by the laws of God through Jesus Christ, we can take action against apostates only to a certain extent, that is, consistent with both sets of laws. The law of the land and God's law through Christ forbid us to kill apostates, even though they be members of our own flesh-and-blood family relationship.

It's this kind of Schadenfreude - this sheer delight at the thought of partaking in the destruction of Worldly People™, and especially exJWs and Apostates™ - that makes JWs The Happiest People on Earth™ - they look forward to that even more than Living Forever In Paradise™.

Hey jgnat! hope all is well with you.

Did the guy define who the wicked are? did he go on to say something to the effect that 'we must come to jah's org' ?

The language used in his statement could go either way, they cover their ass in any event don't they? 'some of jah's servants' qualifying that with 'Jesus & angels', 'we will be observers' but leaving it ambiguous enough that it could also include r & f, that's how I see it.

Bloodthirsty glee is a good description for jw's who can't wait for the 'new system' and the utter destruction of their families, neighbors and apostate children. sick.

Back on August 14, 2003 at around 4:15pm, there was quite a wide blackout that occurred in the Northeastern U.S. and Ontario, Canada. We were without power for almost 24 hours. Some areas were out for longer, some out less. We were on a power 'pull back' for a while after the power was restored. At work, non-essential power usage was clawed back and they've since gone to a lesser air conditioning usage.

There was no widespread panic. Driving home, there were people directing traffic at the intersections where the lights were out. At other intersections, the rules of the road prevaled. Treat it as a 4-way stop.

We were lucky it occurred in the summer. People were pretty laid back. It was like, oh well, we'll get through this. Me and my hubby (at the time) brewed coffee on our Coleman stove for us and our neighbours the next morning.

If the infrastructure broke down tomorrow, people would still survive. We'd help each other out and we'd improvise. We ain't stupid and we certainly aren't going to starve, as all our food is right here on the Earth.

If anything, the incident peaked my interest in getting more survival type skills. Knowledge is power.

edited to add: I started my 'survival skills' education at this website: http://www.wilderness-survival.net/chp1.php

Hey, guys! Great to see you all. As you can see I don't pop in NEARLY as much as I used to. Great comments all. I quoted the speaker verbatim. Anything I wasn't sure about I did not write down. I do think the Witnesses prefer to be passive observers of events, rather than instigators. They just, just, just ENJOY watching world events unfold a little too much. Kind of like the viewers of America's Funniest Videos - crotch edition, and stupidest car crashes of all time.

I'm not going to translate this in to russian.
