Hi everyone. Despite my post count I’m not exactly new here. I used to post und Lost_Light06 on the old board.

Anyhow, I received this email from a JW family member. Thought you might find it interesting.

Same old JW scare tactics, trying to prove their prophecies are correct and the end is ohh so close.

Subject:Babylon is falling in Germany Big Time!

Huge posters have appeared on walls in Germany asking for 'Babylon to Fall!"
The fact is that in Germany people are forced to pay a considerable tax to the church
they belong. This money is deducted at source, automatically from their salary,
unless they go to the appropriate municipal office and officially cancel their membership
to their church.
People have been disgusted with the many scandals that have come to the fore lately
and there is now a movement encouraging citizens to literally 'Get out of her
my people'. They are quoting Rev.18:4 saying "if you do not want to share
with her in her sins".
She is finally starting to be exposed and put to shame!

So what non-jw religions consider religion to be Babylon. Is that a concept outside the WTS?

Hmmm. The email is happy to quote the media having a go at churches but no mention of the media that identified similar things amongst JW's over the last decade? Cherrypick the good bits why not.

Funny thing is that Watchtower will not get their $$$ if such a law is passed.

Oh my God, I've gotten this email twice in the last two hours, and will probably receive it from several more people before the day is out... it'll be in thursday nights comments and sundays and folks will be talking cause ooh ooh ooh it's all over soon... grrr.

Has anyone found the actual news article that this is from? I've searched google all day and came across nothing. I tried all kinds of searches and word order. Nothing at all. Is it a big movement? It can't be, if it's not even in German news. Where'd they find out then?
