I'm asking because of their heathen origin e.g Monday means Moon's day,Saturday=Saturn's day etc...
Why do jw's use the names of the months and days?

Clayton Woodworth tried to get it changed but Rutherford finally vetoed it.

Rutherford strongly reproved the GA editor when he tried to change it.
They changed it during the French revolution; Moslems have their own year counting; North Korea likewise. But they all fell/fall back to using the customary Western names. It would make everyday life slightly problematic, would it not? "I will make the return visit on shabbatattum 8th Nisan at 15 o'clock - meaning in your world Wednesday 23rd April at 9 AM" ...............

I will say that if you check the one website you will find that Woodworth was allowed to put 3 articles in the Golden Age exposing the rank and file to this concept as an official position before Rutherford backed off. So it was after the fact when things did not go the way Rutherford expected that he took a negative stand.

OK. Woodworth was an eager little guy, that's for sure :-)

ahhhh yes Ole' Clayton....
He was an 'ideas' man through and through!
One sister in my first KH actually made up these calendars each year with us kids ........ because they would be used in the Noo-System!
I have one hanging on my fridge...... (I like that silly little tradition still)

JW's would just seem too "whack" if they refused to acknowledge the days and months. Could you imagine the handbills they used to give the meeting schedules on?
The second day of the weekend is DAY ONE. The Public Talk and Watchtower Study are on DAY ONE at 10 am. The midweek Theocratic Ministry School and Service Meeting is on DAY FIVE at 7:30 pm.
Or imagine JW's in business: "So my appointment is on the 19th of Month 5." "Month 5, is that May?" "It is the fifth month of the calendar year, I don't call it May, but I believe you do." "

Didn't they try to come up with "biblical" names for the months and days of the week - (not just "first day" or "second month" and such)?

Yeah, that would really help make them look "whack."
"So come to the Hall on Jah-Day and Moses-Day."
"What?"
"Oh, I think you worldlies call them Sunday and Thursday."
