Jehovah's Witnesses---A Religion That Frowns On Everything!

  You can't do anything in the religion! You can't hold hands with your spouse during prayers.

  You can't wear a logo themed tee shirt when doing menial outdoor work at a "quick build" Kingdom Hall.

  You have to wear a suit and tie or a dress when visiting a Watchtower factory.

  You can't enjoy an older recording of a favorite talk and pass it around because "The Faithful Slave" disapproves of that.

  You can't further your education with college.

  You shouldn't want to get married or have children as the End is soooo close.

  They suck the life and enjoyment of people.....and I've only mentioned a fraction of things JWs frown on.

  I agree...

  It seems that they spend the majority of their energies telling their members what they can and cannot do. It's unbelievable!

  There is now a full gymnasium's worth of young adults that will probably never have anything to do with JW's. I gave a talk about ten years ago to the youth group at our church. I think the rules was the biggest eye opener. Most especially when I hit no dating. But I could see a bunch of kids going "Ok, so what CAN they do?" Going out in field circus doesn't cut it for most teenagers.

  They have to constantly tell them what to do, or what not to do because they've created (or breeded) a bunch of non-thinkers! If they allowed or encouraged education, good values, and expressed true love and acceptance and redemption....they could focus on more positive things! Then of course they wouldn't be the religion they are, the cult they are, or in existance at all I suppose.

  Its the same with raising children, if you constantly harp at them, and direct and redirect their every step along the way you will end up with either non thinkers that can't make a move without being reaffirmed, or you create a rebel that not only goes the other direction from what you say, but does it with detriment to themselves because they lack the capability of good decision making!

  It's insane that it can't be seen this way, and I do realize that I've fallen into a few of the catagories myself. When you know better, you do better.

  a fraction? lol, there should be a term for less than a fraction. i bet if we did a thread and had everyone list what the frown upon it would go on for years.

  They're always thinking they might "stumble" someone. Geesh!

  They revel in their lack of "worldly" wisdom. Turning down an education is considered a badge of honor. If a Witness decides to go to college or encourage it, they are disapproved of and any "privileges" are revoked!

  I still think we should take the lyrics of Billy Joel's "We Didnt Start the Fire" and make a list out of all of the things you cant do!

  Education, Masterbation, Non-Scriptural Meditation,

  Rock Music, Soap Operas, Contact Sports.
