Why are so many christian religions obsessed with other peoples sex lives?
They even feel comfortable talking about it in a 'public meeting' when children are present.
Does it not point toward an unhealthy deviancy in their mentality?

I believe all religions are about control to varying degree's. What better show of control of your adherants and their subservience (sp) than to regulate their diet and how or who they have sex with?
Therefore most religions have some restrictions on the followers diet and the way they can express their sexual needs.

They want to dirtify normal pleasures so people feel guilty. When people feel guilty, they are willing to go back to the church or Kingdumb Hell and do whatever the leaders tell them is necessary to make up for the "sin". Whether it be "Three Hail Marys" or a three-year disfellowshipping, guilt causes people to do whatever. Usually it involves giving the religion money.
All religions are like this to some degree. I got the God Virus book, and according to that, the Muslims are the most controlling religion when it comes to sex. There is no mandatory celibacy among clergy, but an infraction can bring the death penalty. The Catholic church scores poorly because clergy and monastery are celibate. Most other Christian denominations, and Hindu, score poorly here. The most sexually permissive Christian religion is the Quakers; the Wiccan and most pagan religions are also very permissive. I would put Jehovah's Witlesses right up there with Muslims, because they ruin lives instead of killing the person if they mess up.

Everyone wants to control sex, including the government, the World Health Organization, most religions, Madison Avenue, Wall Street and the Boy Scouts, just in different ways.
It's such a primal drive that everyone knows that if you've got em by the balls, the hearts and minds will follow.
Most human cultures forbid the obvious sexual transgressions, rape and child sexual abuse, which is only reasonable, since being forced, emotionally or physically, to do anything against your will is a serious matter, but the rest of it is just people trying to control other people for their own purposes, some good, some not so good, and some downright bad and intrusive.

Issues of abortion, contraception, the gays, masturbation, etc ... crotch, crotch, crotch, crotch crotch.
Everywhere you turn someone is raging about what others are doing with their crotches.

I used to be obsessed with sex when I was a Witness, now I only think about it every eleven seconds.

But I am not sure they are obsessed with having natural sexual relations.
