Case in point!
When I was a teenager I use to look up and list (for memorization) 16 new vocabulary words every day.
It really helped me alot. But, it was hard work. I can think of few things I actually learned in school that did served me
as well as increasing my store of specific vocabulary terms.
I'm a big stickler for precise definitions because it gives me tools for thought which are perfectly suited to map the knowledge I possess.
It can come across as smart alec and pedantic and I may sound like a sesquipedalian didact, but, I'm not trying to be supercilious, I assure you.

I am less smart than I think I am. I was trained by a brain dead religion by peole even dumber than I to think I was brilliant.
But I do know my IQ (for what that's worth), which is bigger than average.

I'm afraid I just don't think that's good enough.
It's far more in my favor to think that I'm as smart as my kids think I am. (they're not teenagers yet)
