I dreamed the gist of that story one night. I've been thinking about writing it for years.....as a metaphor for faith.

Oh Terry...I'm so upset about the kids dying and the box of waxed fruit...its wrung me out..
It makes me think of the occasional news story about somebody found dead in a flophouse motel, half-starved, living like a pauper and come to find a hundred thousand dollars in a suitcase or under the mattress or buried in their backyard! Never used.
The reverse of that is the gist of the story....thinking you have what you need and having nothing but the illusion of it.
