A husband and wife have a mutual close friend. The husband is working all day and this close friend comes to stay for the week.

    The wife state:

"How can a husband leave you happily with another man all day every day. He just wasn't bothered. That attitude hurt. It didn't make me feel special or that I belonged."

What do you think of what she said?

She may be right, she may be wrong.

perhaps it his way of displaying how much he trusts her.

Perhaps he trusts his friend as well.

perhaps it is a trap to see if she is trustworthy

perhaps it is a trap for his friend.

Perhaps he cannot stop work for a whole week

But definatly the couple are not communicating with each other.

This is a close friend. He trusts her, he trusts him. He at least trusts that this situation won't lead to spontaneous sex.

I don't think her real problem is that he left them alone. The part to focus on might be that she didn't feel special or that she belonged. She's crying out for some kind of attention for some issue.

What is worst in ourselves is what we automatically suspect of others.

If the wife is a JW, she sounds like she has been conditioned to believe the JW doctrine that 2 members of the opposite sex, regardless of age difference, physical attraction, personal morality, etc., will inevitably have wild uninhibited monkey sex if left uncahaperoned for more than 5 minutes.

I think that a menage a trois would solve the problem.

    Spot on Sir82,

There is an old saying, " A women may hate you for making a pass at her, but she will hate you more for NOT making a pass at her ! "

The friend obviously could be trusted, and so she didn't feel special. Naughty girl with naughty thoughts a ?

    Too many variables...

Does the husband just trust his friend...and his wife, so doesn't have to worry...or...maybe he doesn't give a shit...or...maybe he knows there's a spark between them two and hopes they do something, giving him an out...

Maybe she's just high maintenance and wants all the attention...or...maybe the husband doesn't show her enough attention and by bringing a friend in it adds even more obstacles to her needing his attention

It's hard to give an opinion on her one comment about a situation that we know next to nothing about...

Wife and friend are not mutual friends....

He is the husband's friend and her acquaintance.

She feels hubby should value her appeal more.
