You know I use to teach the Theocratic Ministry School 69 - 89.

Not to bad as a Public Speaking Class, it had its usefulness, I've been lecturing at several Universities and for Trade Unions. Nice to be able to get up in front of a crowd and not totally choke

Think of it like Toast Masters with no graduation ceremony...................

I think, it a great idea to have an insider within the Borg who come back here and updates us on what its going on. Its one ways of keeping us abreast to the WTS announcements. Of course, it can be an impossible contradictory to sit up there in those boasting sessions unless one has a powerful and compelling reason for doing so.

Can't graduate. If you don't keep hearing the same thing over and over you might start to think like the worldlies.

The Theocratic School used to be more instructive. I heard from my spouse that the school conductor always gives a "good" and never has time for extra help. I imagine that because of potential lawsuits, they no longer counsel the student from the stage.

Years back when I was a JW for several years, I ran into an old friend who happens to be Jewish. I told her what I was into. I explained that I was a bible student. She then asked me: 'when will you be finished'? I thought for a moment and answered her that 'you aren't really ever finished...' and gave her a brief run-down of the religion's beliefs. Naturally, her eyes glazed over and after speaking briefly we said our goodbyes and parted ways again.

Now that I think about it, it is rather ridiculous that you don't ever 'graduate' as a JW. Of course, they will tell you that you are constantly 'taking in knowledge'. But, I ask. Knowledge of what? Now we know it is the religion's constantly changing 'new light' (or blinking light) designed to keep us like those little hamsters on a wheel.

    I feel your pain.

I hope you can step aside/get removed before you go too crazy.

If you're still trying to wake up your immediate family though, there's nothing like the position of Elder to alay their fears and give them the breathing room to do a little free thinking.

    All the best to you,

    om

Graduating permanently...many professions require yearly training, credits, to retain their license. I don't think you ever graduate from learning. But then not much of any value is learned at the KH.
