PSac, you have to admit that your view on the subject of divine inspiration here isn't the majority Christian view. Many if not most Christians believe God WROTE the Bible THROUGH men. Inspiration = dictation to most Christians.
What Must Be the Case if Christianity is True?

I hope, for us all, that your God doesn't exist Terry.

Indeed and if you look at the wording in the OT, it is put forth that way isn't it?
But look at the NT and what do you see?
3 Biographies, 1 Euology a bunch of letters answering questions and expressing view points and one freaky revelation !
See what I mean?
There really is not reason to believe that the bible is simply a collection of writings by people that felt inspired to write about God and evne in the cases that God MAY have todl them to right something, it was still MAN writing.

Quiz: What's the difference between a REAL God that DOES exist and a fake God that somebody just made up long ago?
Would one be visible and active and the other one invisible and silent?
I'm curious...
Would one stay current and the other one have to be conjured up out of an old stale book that anybody could interpret the way they liked?
Hmmm....
Would one be consistent and fair according to an unchanging standard and the other one destroy you one day and save you the next?
I give up!
What WOULD the difference be between a God who is real and one that somebody just made up a long time ago??

A valid question, the difference would be that, an invented God would NOT want a personal realtinship, since those who invented him KNOW he doesn't exist.
A TRUE God WANTS to be know, and yet, if he is benevolent, would NOT FORCE this "knowing" on Us.
My 2cents.

Pious Fraud invents God, not liars.
A small child who talks to a teddy bear or converses with a favorite dolly is not deliberately "lying" to themselves. They are filling a deep need.
A True and Real God would not be so needy and insufficient as to have to create inferior minds and expect them to fully appreciate anything of a superior magnitude.
I don't know how you can say the bible God doesn't FORCE anything on us.
When a mugger points a gun at you and says "Your money or your life" are they benevolently giving you a "choice"?

That when it comes to verifiable matters of historical fact (like the Exodus, the extent of the reign of David, Luke's reported world-wide census, etc) the Biblical stories are disconfirmed by evidence to the contrary as fairy tales, but when it comes to supernatural matters that cannot be verified, the Bible reports true historical facts.
