    I stand corrected. Yet again, here I am struggling with words to share the meaning I wish to convey... Poppers is right. It is not the death of the ego. There is no need to kill the ego, but just to realize it for what it is. Perhaps the great thing about meditation is that it gives the ego some much needed REST... i.e. it puts it to SLEEP for a while! Meanwhile your "true self" emerges... free from the endless chitterings of the ego.

    Or, as Tolle says, "You are not your mind." More poignantly, you are not your thoughts.

    LOVE Tolle, and the paradox here is that, like the Tao says, "this" cannont be named. I guess that's why it's hard to explain it because you have to use words, when fully "awakened" doens't have words! It is just pure conciousness. I always say, the paradox kills me, LOL!
