    Ah! Good point wobble!

9 In a similar way, down through the centuries,
    the various sects of Christendom
have produced a bumper crop of weeds
—first among the Roman Catholic and Orthodox
churches and later among the numerous
Protestant groups that sprang up. At
the same time, a few seeds of the genuine
wheat were sown in the world field.
The householder in the illustration waited
    patiently during the extended growing
time until the relatively shorter harvesttime
    would arrive.

The rest of the article rabbits on about the Annointed cult members being the wheat, while bashing Christendom as the weeds in language typical of RatherFraud in the late thirties.

It is the March WT, still available until the end of this month at http://www.jw.org/index.html?option=QrYQCsVrGZNT

    Cheers

    Chris

It just a way for them to keep the fleeced flock in turmoil. Now everyone will be trying to prove their loyalty.

I had my usual fun with my JW husband on this one. At every home cooked meal I warned him he couldn't eat it because it was "false food".

I wonder if this may not be a way of subliminally casting doubt on the genuineness of those who claim to be new anointed ones in recent years ?

Difficult for them to do, directly, some of the GB have not been anointed for that long.

    Good point Wobble,

That's exactly what's been going through my mind about the

whole new "wheat and weeds" study article. It's their way of

saying sure the partakers numbers are going up but how many

of them are really "weeds" and not "wheat".

It's just so disgusting. Notice how they quote from Romans and

Galatians but always manage to avoid Scripture like: Gal. 3:26, 27

" Y OU are all, in fact, sons of God through YOUR faith in Christ Jesus.

For all of YOU who were baptized into Christ have put on Christ."

They're showing their fruit, just like the Pharisees, they deny entrance

to the Kingdom and neither do they themselves go in.

From Blondie's review of the WT study, this must be the paragraph that prompted this "noo lite"...at least in this one person or congregation's mind...

    7. Jesus did not say that the wheat would become weeds but that weeds were sown among the wheat. So this illustration does not portray genuine Christians who fall away from the truth. Rather, it points to a deliberate effort on the part of Satan to corrupt the Christian congregation by introducing wicked people into it. By the time that the last apostle, John, was old, this apostasy was clearly evident.--2 Pet. 2:1-3; 1 John 2:18.

It is an interesting paragraph. It can be construed in two ways. 1 - they're talking about the apostacy of the early church, which they allude to by saying it happened in John's day. 2 - It seems that they're introducing (or at least allowing the idea to form in individual minds) the prospect that Satan will place "apostates" in the congregation. This ties in with Mad Dawg's comment, "It's just a way for them to keep the flock in turmoil. Now everyone will be trying to prove their loyalty." Set up paranoia...everyone will be watching everyone. Anyone who makes comments not aligning with WT doctrine will be suspect of being a "weed" and of Satan.

Thanks for posting the link Chris. I forgot it was at the org. site.

(I have such a hard time with reading any of the literature now, even with just the intent to criticize. The last WT study I went to, as a favor to a friend giving the talk, I could not even follow it and ended up reading the Bible again. My mind slams shut with the bull****!" wall, and what it sounds like is "La La La La La." I can't process the arrogant, condescending wording....it's so annoying the way they write.)

I'll check it out later on today. I missed her call last night. I actually think she will forget that she brought it up and will chat about today's goings on when she calls.

Every religion since religion started has had "heretics" or "apostates" which merely means someone who disagrees with the guys in charge who wear the funny hats or the suits who let the rest of us poor slobs know what God is thinking this week, year or century.

    uc, that looks like it.

My thought yesterday while she was talking was, "if Jesus is head of the congregation, why would he allow 'Satan' (said in Dana Carvey voice) in to corrupt it?" I mean, isnt the congregation the "spiritual" ark, paradise, (insert own metaphor here), where we find safety from Satan? There may be brothers that turn bad, but Satan?

Oh, just thought of something...using the wheat and weeds illustration...wheat can't turn to weed. So it must be Satan coming into the congregation.

Phew! Glad to be out of that organization that spends so much time on this crap instead of helping their own and those they come into contact with.

My wife came home from the meeting saying that she thinks that the 'apostates' who post here and still attend meetings as an active witness are amongst the weeds within the field of wheat.

Funny I thought and I alluded to the fact that many people would indeed leave were it not for the shunning and loss of family members. Telling her about how some members know of their family member's non-belief but warned them not to be DF'd or they would have to stop talking to them.

    Stupid, stupid cult.
