I knew a JW who was a cop, carried a gun, and could not have any priveleges.
Security at assemblies ? NO
Parking attendant at assemblies ? NO
Handle the microphones at meetings? NO
Pray at meetings? NO
Clean toilets? YES
Poor guy, he really tried to do things to "please God", yet because he carried a gun in his occupation he was invisible to this religion.
I got a good one... My father had quite a collection of mostly hunting rifles maybe a pistol or two but mostly shotguns and rifles. Some of these were heirlooms he was a very ambitious ministerial servant in his 30's. An elder made a "comment" about a JW doesn't need guns. My Dad placed an add in the paper and sold them all for what he could get the next weekend. When this elder found out that my Dad sold heirlooms he felt horrible and sincerly apologized. It was a big deal.... This was about 25 years ago.
Dad is an Elder now and has an arsenal including many handguns and assault rifles.
