I'll ask an elder to confirm.

While you're at it, ask him if my grandfather is part of the same generation as my son?

Most JW's can only describe the first meaning of "this generation". My Mom is

in her 80's and this is what she still believes. She doesn't understand the

last two flashes of "new light" and she sure as hell won't understand the

latest change. Most JW's will not be able to explain the change and the

ones that do will say that this is further proof that we have the Truth because

the light is getting brighter and brighter. Some who are really deep thinkers

will even state that this is another sign of how close we are to the end even

though the Witchtower Babel and Trick Society has just added another 70 to

80 years of waiting until the Great Tribulation.

Who's on first. That is a great clip and perfectly illustrates the comedy this generation is generating. I actually thought that I understood what they were trying to convey (not that I agreed with it) but it has become so obvious from the different takes on it just how convoluted it really is. Seems like each one who tries to get the gist sees it in a different way. I am beginning to think they may be relying on spirit/spirits that come in a bottle rather than what they claim, as in relying on gods holy spirit. Makes one just go "Holy Shite"

Is 1992 and Fred Franz significant to the understanding of "This Generation."? I thought they just used him as an example in the talk at the DC.

Reading the comments of Wannabefree and Caminante on this thread have me confused (i'm sure the GB wants it this way).

My take at the convention was, not that 1992 is pointed to as a specific date, but Franz was used as THE example and it applied particularly to ones who were anointed and discerned 1914 (as Fred Franz) and contemporaries defined as those who would have been anointed before Franz died in 1992. Hence, the lives of the contemporaries as anointed would overlap.

Opinion: as time goes on of course, this will probably follow the same extending out as the original single generation did, those old enough to discern, those born by, only now it can cover two separate groups potentially up to 160 years with potential future new light ... the way it is explained now, the overlapping contemporaries would be advanced in age as well since they would have to have been anointed by 1992.

My understanding on this "generation", correct me if it is wrong, but it is all the annointed that were alive during the "last days". According to the Watctower, starting in 1914 and it will continue until, "the conclusion of this system of things." Have I got it right?

This is my post on another thread..Although it applies to this thread too..

    I feel like I`m Spamming myself..LOL!!..

So..If a baby that is not born yet..Is born during the Lifetime,of the Generation of 1914..

    And..

Is of the Annointed..His/her life, overlaps the Generation of 1914..

    The Generation Change..

Could easily give 1914 a life span,of over another 100 years..

So..."This generation" is defined as the overlapping of the anointed who discerned 1914 and the anointed who will see the conclusion of this system of things. 1992 and Fred Franz are NOT significant to this "prophecy", just used as an example in the DC talk. Right?

If I'm understanding this, Keith Richards and I are in the same generation since I started listening to the Rolling Stones when I was 10 years old.
