About 4 years ago around the time my husband and I were newly fading there was a CO visit (which we didn't attend) where the CO said that there were many in the congregation who could be termed 'the living dead'. Those that were slack about meeting attendance and field service etc who were all going to die at Armageddon anyway.

So of course after that visit the self righteous pioneer sisters in the congregation felt they had the right to walk around with their haughty, judgemental opinions and gossip about those they felt deserved the label of 'the living dead'.

Damaged people.I used to think that JWs were all below average{at least} IQ,but now Im leaning towards the theory that they are damaged people looking for an answer to an unanswerable question.Pity the fool.

this is so crazy if theres so few survivors then he should have just killed adam & eve right then and there and saved us all the pain and suffering it makes no sense to play this terroristic game for thousands and thousands of years he becomes a monster.

One of the more disgusting things about it is that I can envision my JW relatives rubbing their hands in delight, sure they'll be in the tiny number of survivors, feeling even more superior to their fellow Dubs, just waiting for the moment to come any second when they will be proven to have been the most righteous.

Makes me sick. This is mental illness, delusions of grandeur, taken to the extreme.

Well, no more claiming more than 7 million. If only 50% are going to survive, it is 7.3 million X 0.5, or around 3.6 million. If only 20 out of 125 are going to make it, the formula is 7.3 million X (20/125), or 7,300,000 X (4/25); in straight decimals, it is 7.3 million X 0.16. We arrive at a number that is closer to 1.2 million.

Well, that burial detail is just getting worse and worse.

I think they should put those odds out there for you when you are considering studying with them. I think it would definitely cut down on the number of people bothering to join. "Hey Mrs. Newstudy. Before we get into the chapter on giving up Christmas and birthdays, perhaps we should discuss your 1 in 5 chances of even surviving Armageddon after going through this study, total humiliation at the doors, 150 embarrassing baptismal questions, thousands of hours of boring, useless meetings and public submersion?"
You've got to give the elder credit, he used all his assets to figure out that survival rate. Ten fingers and ten toes adds up to twenty. Then you apply that to the total number of publishers and Whala! there you have it!

Thumbs up for the funny comments on such a depressing subject!

I predict that 100% of this generation of Jehovah's Witnesses will die... eventually.

Yah I remember those scary Circuit Overseers talks when they came around telling us most of us would not make it that only the most loyal and faithful would survive. I often thought so what is the point of putting forth the effort, I'll just go home and wait for the end and relax. LOL

That is what I did and it never came.
