  We confess Jesus is "lord" a title or his new God-given position and then scriptures later we have the bit that quotes joel is saying "those that call on the NAME of Jehovah" are saved. One is a title and one is a name these are clearly citing different words and not in reference to each other.

  I absolutely agree that having a title used for both Jesus and Jehovah is confusing to say the least. And one of the major reasons I completely agree with witnesses that this cannot have been inspired this way and that "lord" for Jehovah like in the hebrew scriptures was a later Copyists change against God's inspired word in the greek scriptures also.

  It's confusing only to those who refuse to accept the fact that Jesus is Jehovah.

  since it was Christian Scholars in the past that translated the bible and transliterated the names in it.

  The Name Jehovah was translated Wrong..By Catholics..What don`t you get?..

  Very often these were men who held religious positions.

  I made my point above but to add to yours, it isn't just talking about Jesus it says "and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved"

  So it's actually referencing God after Jesus as saviour.

  The very fact that Paul makes a DISTINCTION between Jesus as Lord and God as who raises him, makes it clear that the Lord he references as per Joel is Jesus, Just as it is stated in Acts- No name under heaven by which we can be saved ( Jesus).

  This question I put before one of the Bethel elder during an study and at least he was honest enough to admit that is the more natural reading but that they, the JW's, decided to translated Jehovah to be more inline with their doctrine.

  What else has God allowed to be corrupted in the greek scriptures?

  First he allows his name to be removed and now he allows a mix up of "lord", a mix up that only effects the JW's by the way, and only after they brought out the NWT, before that there wasn't any confusion.

  Even the oldest of greek manuscripts show Lord and not YHWH, even those just 100 years removed, so already then it had been changed and yet the JW's adopt the Canon of "christendom".

  Ok, Outlaw. Thanks...i am still trying to digest all that. LOL
  PSac, the org claims on one hand that we have the Greek manuscripts with amazing accuracy..and they can be trusted. Yet they turn around and paradoxically say that something as important as the name of God was removed- stamped out of all the thousands upon thousands of manuscripts over the continents...this being done in a short time period after the apostles died. And for some mysterious reason histroy does not record any sort of struggle between these corrupt copyists and scribes and the church fathers.
