Wow, that does make them sound totally ridiculous.
One thing, I thought it was not a disfellowshipping offense if a witness accepts a blood transfusion. Although, the elders treat a witness who does accept one voluntarily as a witness who is disassociating himself.
The penalty is the same though. Shunning and treated as dead.
Is it any wonder why this religion is so small in terms of head count?

Firstly the 'faithful and discreet' slave are the 10 or so men in Brooklyn that make up our Organization's Governing Body.
Is that "official" doctrine at this point? Witness literature still teaches that the "Faithful and discreet slave" is the entire body of anointed (i.e. A composite class) and that the Governing Body is the representative of that slave.
