My wife was reading a few bits of COC and she read most of Gentile Times Reconsidered and she says she's not buying the dates anymore and I can tell she knows it's not the truth. She is starting to feel depressed about it and is feeling "hollow" on the inside. She said that you can't argue all the evidence that points to 586/7BC for Jerusalem's destruction and you can't separate dates from wts dogma - she finally is getting it :) Historians are making stuff up to cover up 607BC. She's going to this crap of a convention but that might be the last of it as she made plans to attend with her sister but she most likely will fade after that :) I feel so relieved!!!!! I doubt she's be as bitter as me about it as it's not her personality but I just hope she doesn't get too depressed. It feels so good to see someone set themselved free of this cult.

That's great news. The depression should not be too much problem if you can help her fill her life with other interests. It is toughest building a new network of friends and that is the part to concentrate on. Spirituality is not an issue. Although a JW thinks there is nowhere to go, you quickly find that every religion offers the same sort of hope for life. Alternatively, atheism/agnosticism don't really make life less enjoyable either.

Congratulations!
If I can make a suggestion? Let her fade quietly. Especially if she has other family within the WTS.
I was rather ignorant to their ways....and ended up getting DF when It could have been totally avoided. Caused many a stressful situation. And if her family are diehard Witnesses.....they may report her for apostasy......or anything else, like celebrating christmas or other things.....
You need a game plan. There are many here who can help you with their experiences. It's so terrible.....the WTS has such a stones hold on people.....
