They preach the book of mormon.

I've had Mormons at my door more times than JWs. They come with the Book of Mormon but they also have their JST. Not unlike the JWs who come with their Watchtowers in addition to their NWT.

Trinitarians Preach a 3rd century derived triune God

Uh-huh. And JWs preach their 3rd century Arian creature-Jesus. Is this thread about the preaching work, or doctrine?

I've said it before, but it bears repeating:

The Jesus Film Project . Based on the Gospel of Luke, the "JESUS" film has now been translated into more than 1,000 languages, with a new language being added nearly every week. This brings God's Word to people in more than 200 countries in languages they know and understand. Through use by The JESUS Film Project, and more than 1,500 Christian agencies, this film has had several billion viewings worldwide since 1979.

Gideons International, distributing bibles throughout the world. The bible has been translated in to 82 languages and distributed in 187 countries. They distribute about 25,000 bibles a year. (Keep in mind these are complete bibles, not brochures with snippets).

Besides, as I tell my husband, the JW message is not one of the good news, but an anti - (mainstream) Christian message. They have only made inroads in countries where Christian missionaries have already established themselves. The Witnesses are virtually absent from China and muslim nations. Think about it. The Witness introductory brochure, "What does the Bible Really Teach?" utterly fails by page two if the reader does not already implicitly believe the bible.

"Believers" like debater may be unaware that there are Christians outside of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society who are persecuted for their faith. Check out http://www.persecution.com/

Good point. I'd love to know of one language, in which the WT translated the Bible first.

Witnesses are the first Christian group in 1700 years to go back to Preaching about Jehovah our Almighty God THROUGH his son Jesus and not putting his son Jesus in his father's place.

    No they're not.

We do have something called Unitarianism (not to be confused with Universalist Unitarianism/ though some of the ideals between Unitarianists and Universalists have merged). But Unitarianism started up again in the 1500's.

    Hi Jgnat

With respect witnesses produce billions of literature a year but we do count the literature as able to do it's own preaching work.

Your examples are people handing out DVD's and Bibles put in hotels that involve no actual preaching work.

The Jews had God's word the Bible and still needed to be preached to by Jehovah's son Jesus.

The ethopian eunuch was quoting from Isaiah but still needed Philip to be sent to preach to and teach him. The Bereans had the Bible but used it to test the accuracy of Pauls preaching against.

Preaching is more than just handing out DVD, Bibles and pamphlets It leads right upto the people being Baptised as Christians and then becoming preachers themselves.

That just goes to show you don't know anything about the Gideons.

Debator, you really should do your homework first. The Jesus film has an impressive record of follow-up leading to conversion. Are you suggesting that the door to door work has a high conversion rate? At what point is the JW convert provided their own bible, or is that secondary to the conversion process itself?

My reply: Neither does the JWs leaving their pamplets and running.

My reply: And He is all we need. The GB has inserted itself in His place.

The Sept 15, 2010 WT on page 23 states :

The anointed and their other sheep companions recognize that by following the lead of the modern-day Governing Body, they are in fact following their Leader, Christ.

Debator said: The ethopian eunuch was quoting from Isaiah but still needed Philip to be sent to preach to and teach him. The Bereans had the Bible but used it to test The accuracy of Pauls preaching against.

My reply: And he never saw Philip again. Not the case in witness world- where their salvation is deemed dependent on their keeping in touch with the self-proclaimed FDS

    Debator:

My reply: As many evangelical Christian acknowledge and do. The JW busywork of door knocking will lead to a rare and occasional baptism into "God's spirit-directed org" as a member (not as a Christian) and their becoming preachers of more WT lies.

    Whoelse is preaching worldwide?

Well, almost everyone I guess, but I assume that RC Missionaries are still the most sginificant presence.
