    Dear Mad,

I see you are still having fun with with your feeble attempt at humor. If it's fun you want just look in the mirror.

Gen 19:24 Then Jehovah made it rain sulphur and fire from Jehovah, from the heavens, upon Sod'om and upon Go·mor'rah. (NWT)

MadJW, going back to one of your posts from yesterday, you posted a page from the Rev. Climax book and said regarding the WTS: "That's as close as they get to ADMITTING they are just guessing- as we ALL are!"

And I agree with your statement. But this touches on an issue that bothered me back when I was a practicing, believing JW--namely, why should a "spirit-directed" organization be required to guess? How exactly is the "spirit" directing them? When they screw something up, how (if at all) was the "spirit" involved?

We take for granted that the people who wrote the Bible were inspired by God and everything they wrote that was recorded as scripture is 100% true. Under that assumption God is capable of communicating clearly to people. So, why is it that God chose to communicate clearly with people 2000+ years ago, but can't be bothered to do so anymore.

To be frank, it doesn't pass the smell test. Isn't it convenient that God performed miracles, appeared to people via angels, talking animals, and burning shrubberies at a time before video cameras and flash photography were invented? It seems that the God of the Bible (for all his flaws) understood that people needed some kind of supernatural proof to believe in him and to put stock in his representatives. Otherwise, why would he give Moses the power to turn his stick into a snake? Or why did he make Aaron's rod sprout flowers--even after God had killed the usurpers to the priesthood? Or why did Jesus let doubting Thomas touch his wounds?

If it was OK for people back then to require some tangible proof before accepting that a person or group is God's representative, why not today?

Veryt good questions, OMG! Heh! Cool acronym- do that on purpose?

We/ they KNOW we are not prophets, and can ONLY guess as to why there hasn't been any more since Christ died.

Guesses and $2 will getcha coffee at McDonald's.

Even when the gifts of the spirit WERE there, some christians went off the deep end with their imaginations and guesses (lemme know if you wnat me to look up the examples).

Whenever I read Christ's words, I INSTINCTIVELY know them true and not ficticious, and they are the ONLY principles that contribute to a rich life- my OPINION.

    The sad fact is PEPOLE!

We all have our faults; I likely have more than YOU- so if you look for faults, you'll EASILY find 'em.

I look for things pertaining to truth and God- and so far, after 40 years of listening to preachers and peoples of many faiths and philosophies, I re-affirm that I have TRULY found it each day...IF I don't focus on PEOPLE.

Genesis chronicles the beginning of this Mess we call "humanity", Revelation (from the Last Apostle John) shows how the Problem will be solved. Then the Silence began, as CHURCHianity began. Daniel 12 foretold how in the End Times that would change...

Luke 1:30- But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with the Gods. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call Them Jesus God. 35 The angel answered, "God-the-Ghost will come on you, and the power of the Triune Majesty will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Man-God. - RCV

Oh really? In a few cases that I cite I don't see that. In one, they outright state that the Bible says it.

John 8:27-28- They did not grasp that They were talking to them about God-the-Father. 28 Therefore Jesus God said: “When once YOU have lifted up the Son of man, then YOU will know that We are the I AM, and that We do nothing of Our own initiative; but just as God-the-Father taught Us, We speak these things. - RVC

    THAT sure makes sense!
