Fortunately, I'm married to a "worldly" man, so I don't have to worry about that. I just wanted to add that the lack of a necessary blood transfusion not only puts life at risk, but it can also cause the need for double the recovery time. My jw mom was in the hospital twice as long for a hip replacement than her older "worldly" sister. Because her hospital stay was extended, the physical therapy my jw mom needed was delayed. Therefore the physical therapy portion of the treatment took longer as well.
