OK sorry but I'm hijacking the thread....
As I was reading the article, I'm thinking, "THIS guy is JW? EVERYONE knows JWs don't coach little league! Is this some PR opportunity for the one dude inthe Cong. who is involved in his community?
Of course I didn't know who Chet Lemon was, so now it makes a ton of sense why he would be involved in baseball. Cause we all know the rank and file would be counseled for spending all this time on a worldly pursuit.[8>]

That's exactly what I said above! But for a totally different reason. This was also a "I had to make my stand as a JW and refuse blood" PR incident, when in fact his very disease made the issue of blood transfusion practically an non-issue.
I'm glad more than one person caught the gratuitous PR opportunity, even if we caught them for two very different reasons.

Scully, Yah I know---and your research was bang-on, girl. I wouldn't have even bothered to do all that checking, LOL.
It just threw up a huge red flag that the dude was a little league coach and a JW. I knew there was something else. And what's more, I wouldn't be surprised if the HLC team at WTBS Headquarters had asked ol' lemon head to use his media contacts and spin this one out.
Shit, I couldn't even BE on a friggin little league team and now some JW dude is COACHING one? And having aspirations for them making the playoffs? Doesn't sound very scriptural to me.
They are NOT above any suspicion about any issue, IMHO.
