brooklyn dodgers haven't thought about them since I was a kid.

Your right about the ancient hebrews, the whole time I was a witness I was troubled by much of the violence & insanity of the scriptures trying to find some resolution in my mind & heart. I always felt that I was searching to find the love & goodness in the constant tales of genocide.

This thread is just a trivial exercise in lateral thinking applied to Bible literalism. If I've offended anyone- including God...I'm sorry.

    Love and goodness are there.

The other nations could have come to His side and benefitted from it.

Instead, they chose to oppose Him and His people.

They paid the price for their folly.

    Shechem.

Their father, Jacob, condemned his sons for that.

Hey, Shechem had violated their sister.

He knew the deal - the Canaanites would have done the same to Jacob and his sons.

It was their trickery that was so reprehensible.

Transhuman68,As my own personal god,I forgive you..Yeah,I always thought the story of Job,and of Isac and His daddy Abe was the work of a sick masochistic mind..Not any sort of "god" that I would invite into my life...

No, I mean he knew the deal for violating someone's daughter or sister.

    Still holds true today.
