A bit before my time , but hopefully of interest to some. The food service brings back memories of the 70's & 80's before it was "simplified" by the WTBTS.

It would seem that the 60's & early 70's were very much a golden era for the society , before the 1975 debacle. It is always amazing watching baptisms of adults - I honestly can't remember the last time a reasonably compus mentis adult was baptised at an asembly.

It felt like a golden era to us.

I was 10 & my parents thought they had found the truth.

    They were young & vibrant.

Now they are very elderly they realise it wasn't 'The truth' & trying to cope the best they can.

Wow! That's fascinating! Yes, memories of a bygone era (although '63 was a little before my time).

But I nearly choked when the clipped 'BBC English' voice said, "They stand for what the Bible teaches - literally, and without any fancy interpretations."

Thanks so much for finding that dozy. Goodness, that brings back some memories! My family joined a couple or so years after that film was made but it was just the same when I started going and I can remember the food tent! I've been scanning the crowds to try and spot someone I know but haven't managed to find anyone so far. I'll show it to my husband when he gets home as I am pretty sure he would have been there at the time with his Mom!

    You and me both, Ann!!!

those old images of Twickers amazed me and it was unchanged for years , with those big white marquee tents , those old speakers on the walls, one would not recognize the stadium now it being one of the most advanced up to date arenas in Europe, I still have those old childhood memories walking to the stadium , the old 5/6 day night sessions, and sitting under a plastic sheet in the pissing rain on that South uncovered terrace, the smell of bacon sizzling as you walked to the concourse for the traditional Bacon Buttie and the foul stench of the stewed purified coffee which was undrinkable.

I was thirteen in 1963, and had my first real "snogging" session with "Janet (Hotlips) S" up in the stand when it was nearly dark.

Anyone over 40 that film is likely dead now. They were convinced they were one of "millions now living who would never die".

There's something rather sad about that.

So those evening sessions till 9pm weren't a complete waste of time, huh? LOLOL!

P.S. I first kissed my future hubby at a CA!

I agree, Mickey Mouse, there is something rather sad about it.
