Typically is there a limit to the number of disfellowships a person can receive before they're "out"? I'm specifically referring to my ex, who has a marriage/relationship that results in a babyX2. She just mentioned that it was harder to get back into good graces this last time. She is a lifetime witness but gets outted to have a life.

I am puzzled to know why anyone would want to keep going back into prison once they had successfully escaped!!!

I'm not sure if there's a limit, but one guest speaker mentioned he was glad to be "allowed to return to fellowship in God's organization for the third time." I was like:

Anyone who keeps on going back is truly a glutton for punishment

It just gets harder to get back I have known of brothers take as long as three years of attending every meeting unless a really good reason for missing to get reinstated. And I know from reading this board and from personal experience over the years in congs. that many times it is just to have family speak to them again.

I know of someone who has been disfellowshipped four (4) times but I have no idea why or if it was for the same kind of problem. He is now reinstated and apparantly doing well in the congregation.
Jesus did say about forgiving 7 or 77 times!

No there is no official limit......but a person's reinstatment is based on the JCs opinion.
Some JC members have no problem playing 'Judge and Executioner'........being the only way a person is reinstated is 'over their deadbody".
