This thread was right under the thread about the molestation of the 12 year old. Bad timing.

I really, really endeavor to be subtle ...
I'm not sure this is super subtle, Coco, I think we get your drift.

Dear FHN:
Years of repression held at bay ...
For too long a lifetime, O cunning and vexatious Cupid, have you refrained from entering into my presence with love's dream granted.
Offerings of tears and flowers of the field upon your altar have in no wise moved your heart or winged travel on my sorrowing behalf. You are well acquainted, scornfully so, with the desire of eyes that pine toward an elusive mating and the burning blood that courses madly through veins scarce able to contain such fire. When, if ever, will my liebestraume become entwined with the physical being I call Myself? I am earth, my blood is fire ... I will be consumed but for a rupture ...
My raging love has become pent-up waters behind a crumbling dam of dust and bone.... -

Now, you have to wear a billowy white pirate shirt when you recite this poem, Coco.

Thanks, dear Lady!
I read my poetry to a writers' group yesterday and was asked to read one of them twice.
Gotta get that shirt ...

CoCo,
The pirate image was good but I had a scene in a museum come to mind. i imagined a man viewing a painting of a beautiful woman centuries old and he can't get it out of his mind and he goes back and stares at it for hours and it haunts his whole life. So he researchs and finds out about the painter and the woman and has a waking past life dream of the two of them. It was a very inspiring little writing it set off a spark in my imagination.

Thanks, Nancy, for that image. It reminds me of my first encounter with Jane Seymour, that through the eyes of Christopher Reeve:
Somewhere in Time
What an experience it was to see that old-fashioned portrait of her, and then, in the course of the story's extended flashback, the viewer learns what brought the smile to her face when photographed ...
Sigh.

yes I forgot about that movie.
although Sylvia thinks I'm prone to wild flights of fancy. Your writings seem to inspire that quality.
