I was in the worst situation of the JW world. Teenager at the early 80's...boy there was a lot of preasure that time, not to seek wordly education and become pioneers. I left school to become one, because the end was sooooooooooo f*cking close...25 years passed ever since, and the end is still close...
I have quit school, never took care of my future because the end is near. I left in my early 30's but my life was wasted. Now all alone without any help I'm struggling to get a discent sallary, but there is no way I can do that, due to my low skills. WT wanted us to be window and toilet cleaners, while my 'wordly' friends they are in a much better possition than me, since they all got educated and earing a respectable sallary...
WT ruined our life

Debator, what do you do personally to make the world a better place? do you feed the hungry? clothe the poor? give shelter to the suffering? give money for nets for the countries with a malaria problem? sponsor a child with aids? work in a soup kitchen with the poor, homeless, prostitutes and or the drug addicted? or do you think it is sufficient to go around giving ridiculous magazines to those starving instead of bringing them a sandwich or helping them learn a skill so they don't need your help in the long run? what do you or any jw do to help the world they live in? giving false promises of God and false hopes does not help anyone.
You help other jw's in catastrophes? big deal.
NIV-Luke 6:32 -35 "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
Do jw's even hand out the rags without expecting something in return? no, they expect a return visit so they get their brownie points on their fs time slip. They get bragging rights if they manage to get a study to get baptized. They think they get extra credit with jah and it will count for them in the fictional 'new system'.

Hi carla
We have a worldwide writing and reading program to teach people (which they benefit from even if they discontinue a study), we also have a worldwide sign language program for the deaf. And in disasters we help more people than just witnesses, circumstances allowing but even a government official recognised that if we just helped witnesses we are taking some of the burden off them which they can direct elsewhere and by being first in, we open the ways for others. Our charity work is not done openly as others and our teaching bible morality to people that may have no concept of living by bible standards is also unrecognised. For example the positive changes in a pop idol that becomes a witness is only mocked on here even though many of his fans would be effected positively by his living by bible morality as apposed to supporting drug taking, immorality etc.
Are you limiting charity work only to those on that list of yours, failing to see the recognised good of what we do as witnesses?
As for me personally I keep what I do secret and between me and God not something to brag or justify myself about as you seem to want me too.
Jesus healed the sick and poor and taught us to help those in need but he always emphasised the life-saving preaching work from his father as the first command for us as Christians.
1 Corinthians 1:21
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.1 Corinthians 1:25
25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.
1 Corinthians 15:2
By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. You think preaching about Jehovah is false promises and hope! that is your choice but I believe and have faith in Jehovah and his promises made through his son Jesus and so I do not consider this as wasted. It is for each person to decide for themselves.

While I see ATJ point, there is always the CHANCE of recovery, but the issue of Blood is, in my view, by FAR the most harm caused by the WT's manmade doctrines.
It is funny that in the many lists that we find in the NT, including the deeds that Jesus himself deemed worthy in Matthew chpater 25, we do NOT find preaching per say, we do find warnings that not ALL SHOULD be preachers and we do find Paul stating that he took care of himself ( had a job) and didn't need anyone to "take care of him".
I think that if a person choose to preach the word of God, a very MAJOR thing since they better be 100% SURE they are preaching the correct message or they will be in for some serious trouble, there is NO REASON why they can't have a meaningful job.

If you are happy with what this world and existence offers within it's three score years and ten then jeff certainly has a point.
1 John 2:16-17 (New International Version)
16 For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
Debator,
I always find it amusing when discussing this topic with relatives who are still JW's. JW's, including yourself, always reach for this scripture and have this frame of mind when discussing people who have left the "Organization". You assume that by leaving the "Orgnization" people automatically grasp for "sinful cravings." Is it so difficult to imagine a life away from the JW's to be one of excitement and fulfillment without "sinful cravings"?
Also, by having this frame of mind the JW's tend to seperate themselves off, as if they do not indulge in sinful cravings while being part of their "spiritual paradise", when they in fact grasp at sinful cravings at about the same rate as the rest of mankind. JW's are no different than anyone else and to pretend differently would be sticking your head in the sand. Please free yourself and enjoy a life of fulfillment. Stop wasting your life in a religion that sucks you dry. Freedom is exhilirating and I regret not having left the JW's sooner.

I have a social conscience that is true but life has made it clear that man is unable to address all our problems,
I have a brain and can easily deduce that you have hardly even tried to address ANY of our problems, let alone worked throughout a "life" to address ALL of them. Leaving the cleanup work to God is a copout and I have little respect for groups like the WT who endorse such social laziness.

They have as much chance of a resurrection..As all the other JW`s who have been resurrected..
None..
Your going to waste your life..Waiting for extra life..
Thats what you get for not appreciating the gift, you already have..

being first in-- jw's have NEVER gone into any country where Christians have not gone first.
Are you kidding???!! you want to hold up Prince as your example of morality? I suppose next you want to tell me the William's sisters are a fine example of how a young lady should dress? I don't know what kind of jw you are but I once sent a pic of the girls to my jw and he was mad as hell because he thought I was sending him some sort of porn! A few of us ubm's sent the pics and asked our jw's if this was acceptable, they all had the same response.
Try as you might you cannot whitewash the lack of Christian love to the world at large by jw's. When people find out you do absolutely nothing to help the society you live in they are appalled. It is always the same, 'what?! no soup kitchens are allowed? no reaching out to help at all? why do they get a tax exempt status as a 'church' when they do nothing to help the community? don't they know the story of the Good Samaratin? basically they just want us (the doors) to buy their silly mags?' then fill them in about their 'no blood' policy, 'let me get this straight, you mean jw's claim not to take blood because their god will get mad at them but they really do use up the blood supply by taking blood as long as it is in fractions? yet they will do nothing to replenish the blood banks??!!! are you kidding me?' - That alone pisses off enough people you don't even have to get into all the false prophecy, scholarly dishonesty, pedophilia problem, mental, physical and spiritual abuses, stolen childhoods, broken families, flip flops, treatment of women, etc..etc...etc.....
Here's what the bible has to say about the jw's endless printing of books-
Ecc. 12:12 Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.
John 5:39-49You diligently study [fn] the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.-- you as a jw are not even allowed to 'come to Christ'. nor do you even understand what that means.
You missed some major points in Cr 15-
2-4-By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance [fn]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,......12-19- But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.
