JW Leadership Is Evil

In response to people like Sexyteen, I point out that most Witnesses
are just naive, child-like people willing to believe most anything
    their leadership tells them.

However, Watchtower leadership is genuinely evil.

Why? Because they know - or have every reason to know that they
are guilty of fraud, deception, and bloodguilt.

    1) The blood tranfusion issue has been exposed again and again
as a fraud. It started because of Fred Franz's superficial
scholarship - now, so many lives have been sacrificed that
they can't say they were wrong. If blood is sacred BECAUSE
IT IS A SYMBOL OF LIFE, THEN IT IS LIFE THAT IS THE PRIORITY.
Refusing a life saving treatment, based on blood, is therefore
unscriptural and un Christian. They have every bit of information
at their disposal - and chose to continue to encourage innocent
    deaths - that is evil.

    2) Their entire organization is based on the deception that they
alone have a channel to God and that their word is therefore
reliable. They have preached that Armageddon is "soon" for 120
years. They told young people in 1969 that they didn't need
college because they would never grow old! (Aw may22 '69).
They strongly discouraged Witnesses against having children
during the 1930's (Children book). Make no mistake, these
    deceptions hurt people.

    3) They damage, injure and wreck families by extreme teachings.
An existing extended family is nearly impossible to maintain
when the celebration of holidays is forbidden( just try and
get everyone's schedule to line up apart from days that nearly
everyone gets off). Upon conversion to the Watchtower, other
relatives become 'worldly people' and 'bad associations' who
    will die at Armageddon.
They ruin children by forcing them to attend 5 boring pointless
meetings a week together with a phoney, unproductive 'ministry.
They rant on, forbidding masturbation as a means of release
(TWO chapters in the Youth book). By placing such emphasis on
numbers, they fail to emphasize goodness, love, and charity.
Why do think congregations are loaded with Witness families
and marriages falling apart? They further injure families
by allowing corruption and lying by elders - and cover up
child sexual abuse - for the same reasons as the Catholic Church.

Innocent deaths, wrecked careers, and ruined families - just for
    a start.

AND THEY HAVE EVERY REASON TO KNOW THEY ARE WRONG. ALL THE FACTS
    ARE EASILY AVAILABLE TO THEM.

If this isn't evil, what is?

metatron ( and they've known FOR YEARS that their disfellowshipping
practices are wrong - but refuse to change)

I wouldn't call them EVIL, they are more like MORAL COWARDS.
The old saying,"oh what tangled webs we weave, when first we set out to deceive", applies perfectly.
They have just built one LIE atop the other!

Thats Right Met, you tell 'em!

Regarding point #1: Its like Ray Franz says in his book(CF) If a marraige is falling apart, would you hurry to make sure that the wedding ring is saved ? the ring being the symbol of marraige?

Or would you try to save the marraige?

So why not use the Symbol of life-blood to save the actual life?

Kind of stupid not to, huh?

The leaders of the JWs are terrible. When my father was disfellowshipped the elders forbid my mother from telling people what was disfellowshipped for and who else was involved. Nevermind the fact my mother was the injured party and she every right to do so.
Argh, still makes me mad to think about.

Thanks, Metatron. It was in front of my face the whole time and I couldn't see it.

    Howdy Metatron:

I'm glad you brought up this topic. I've been meaning to write something about it myself. I mentioned on an earlier thread that I've been reading M.Scott Peck's book "People of the Lie", which describes quite vividly his theories about behaviour that he classifies as evil.

He mentions several characteristics of people/groups that identify them as being evil.

First is "narcissism", or the characteristic of a person to think of themselves as 'perfect', or 'above reproach'. This trait is the one that makes people act in a "my way or the highway" manner, thinking of their way is the only RIGHT way. It is also the trait that leads to the next one....

Secondly, is the tendency to project their own badness onto others. This is known as "scapegoating". We see it happening among JWs on several levels. Primary scapegoating occurs during the indoctrination process whereby the initiate is taught that "the world" is wicked, and that in order to escape the world's wickedness, one must join up the JWs. Secondary scapegoating is what keeps people from leaving. It involves the practice of disfellowshipping, disassociation, and the subsequent shunning that is required. A third kind of scapegoating occurs when the leadership blames the membership for their errors. (For example when the failure of 1975 to bring Armageddon as predicted by the WTS was blamed on the 'overzealousness' of the members who took the words of the GB at face value and believed them.)

Third, and probably most telling, is the propensity of people who are evil to lie in order to achieve their desired outcomes. This is very plainly seen in the JW organization when it uses "Theocratic War Strategy". The WTS places the furtherance of its own goals (ie, "Freedom of Worship") above a vulnerable child's Inalienable Right to Life, as in the case of having the WTS's religious status regained in Bulgaria after deceptively telling the European Commission on Human Rights that no sanctions would be taken against a member who accepted a blood transfusion for themselves or their minor children.

Another characteristic of people described by Peck as "evil" is the utter callousness of evil ones toward the damage they cause. Does the WTS care that families are torn apart by their policies on disfellowshipping? Does the WTS care that its reversals on policies, such as the one on oral sex, destroyed marriages?? Do they care that people remain in a disfellowshipped state after their so-called disfellowshipping offenses became "a matter of conscience"?

The lust for power over others is another trait characteristic of evil. It comes in the form of controlling. The WTS has a virtual stranglehold of control over JWs. To voice an opinion different than what is presented in the WTS publications is considered "apostasy". To be an 'apostate' is considered the worst possible crime against the WTS.

    addendum:
This further enables the WTS to control information that is received by members, and limits it strictly to what the leaders want them to know. It goes hand-in-glove with "Theocratic War Strategy".

One very interesting observation Peck makes is that the very word "evil" is the word "live" spelled backwards. Peck states that evil people actually 'drain' life from the living. How does the WTS do this? They restrict your friendships inside and outside of the organization. They control your activity by calling everything not devoted to furthering their interests "worldly", and placing a negative value judgement on it. They make demands on your time and resources to further their interests at the expense of your own.

Those are the main highlights of this book that I can remember off the top of my head. If I come up with any more, I'll add to the list.

However, just on those few items alone, the WTS does indeed manifest itself to be an utterly evil organization.

    Love, Scully

to expose a certain religion as being false.

Scully-I love your posts. This one was fantastic. Keep it up. You are very articulate and sensible. I have been getting mad lately and tend to rant. You put it on the table quite elegantly. Thanks!

Metaron-thanks for bringing it up. Sexy Teen is my mother. The problem is that my mother is 63. She has the same sayings-line for line. It is a recital. Very sad...

I know I keep harping about it but exposing the "Theocratic war
    strategy" is important.

Whenever ANY courtroom case comes up, how would you like to
represent the Society on the witness stand and be forced to
answer questions about a doctrine (never repudiated) that
    encourages lying to the authorities?
