That's right, it was presented as the creators promise, and we were
taught that God cannot lie, now why would he promise the generation that was alive in 1914
something, and then take it back at the 2010 DC. Yea i'm talkin' smack and luvin' it.

And for the record, I understand Debators position as most of us former Witnesses do. I did everything I could for a long time to convince myself that the organization was what it said it was. It was only after a long time and a lot of research that I fianally saw them for what they were which is just another group who claims to be the exclusive channel to God. There were many in the past as there are today and there will be more arise in the future. As someone said a while back "Once a person or group convinces you they speak for God, they can teach you anything."

The Scriptures provide no suggestion that Nathan's offhand remark was to have been taken as divinely revealed truth, but in any event, Jehovah himself corrected the prophet that very night. ( "And it came about on that night that the word of Jehovah came to Nathan..." [2 Samuel 7:4]) It is not as though the prophet had preached the same (or varying) incorrect statement(s) repeatedly, over and over for decades on end, demanding that others accede to his belief(s) and condemning those who could not. That is, after all, what the Society's record shows that they have done.

Well, Debator, the Watchtower Society does everything it can to impress its thralls with its glorious "authority" but you are technically correct that - nudge-nudge, wink, wink - they have never actually said "We are inspired prophets of God" (fingers crossed).
However, they have repeatedly predicted that Armageddon is "Soon" across 130 years and made specific predictions such as the Awake comment in 1969 that young people would never fufill any career in this system and didn't need college.
So, they are not prophets. They are merely Broadgage Liars and an unreliable Cult that nobody should depend on.
Is that satisfying to you?

Other then listing many many examples, I'll use the upcoming 9/15/2010 WT of CLAIMING direct inspiration from God.
Page 13, Par 8 - "The Governing Body publishes
spiritually encouraging literature in many
languages. This spiritual food is based on
God’s Word. Thus, what is taught is not
from men but from Jehovah." - Now lets apply that statement to Junes explanation of the generation change w/ no scriptual backing.......anybody who just read this paragraphy here who is 'new' to the 'org', will then wonder if it's from Jah, why it changed. For things way off, then you get articles which I could quote, where they say, "it was implied but we never said it was inspired, etc, etc." Well here you have a clear cut example of twisting and 'implying' it's inspired, actually not applying it, but outright declaration of it.Page 8, Par 7 - "Without the assistance of
“the faithful and discreet slave,”(REALLY THE GB ONLY SINCE NOBODY ELSE OF THE SLAVE IS ALLOWED TO TALK OR TEACH)
we would neither understand the full import of what
we read in God’sWord nor know how to apply
it."Would love to see the reply on this Debater
