I do think Dan Gilbert's comments were out of line, and unprofessional. But he sounded more like a jilted lover than anything else. I never perceived it as racist.

That's exactly right - it's what the whole Democratic party has morphed into - calling themselves "liberal".
There's another word for it.
I just can't think of what it is. But it invariably involves the use of government power to bring others down.

A Democrat demands that the rest of us pay for his.
If a Republican reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A Democrat will delete it because he's "offended".

Funny but true story:
When the University of Alabama passed over Sylvester Croom and hired Mike Shula as head coach-----Jesse came to town. The black folks even wanted him to shut up.
It's almost like rabid apostates, if you point out racism when it probably doesn't exist NO ONE takes you seriously when there is an actual case of racism.
Jesse may have been with Dr. King back in the day, but his political ambitions drive him more than his love of humanity.

For the past few years, Tim Conway Jr does a segment Thursday evenings on his radio show called "What the Hell Did Jesse Jackson say?" (He had to drop the 'Hell' word when he switched stations)
