The thread about my avatar disappeared. I think my avatar picture is harmless, but I did say earlier the Gothic witch possibly gets back to music I listened to as a teenager. Associated imagery is as follows:
Here we have a pentagram, the eagle is a symbol from the National Socialist movement (Nazism), and Slayer was one of the “Big Four” in the 1980's.

Slayer is an American heavy metal band from Huntington Park, California, formed in 1981. The band was founded by guitarists Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King. Slayer rose to fame with their 1986 release, Reign in Blood. The band is credited as one of the "Big Four" of thrash metal acts, along with Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax.
Slayer's musical traits involve fast tremolo picking, atonal guitar solos, double bass drumming, and shouting vocals. The band's lyrics and album art, which cover topics such as serial killers, Satanism, religion and warfare have generated album bans, delays, lawsuits and strong criticism from religious groups and the public.
Def Jam's distributor, Columbia Records, refused to release the album Reign in Blood due to its graphic cover art and lyrical themes. For example, "Angel of Death" detailed Holocaust concentration camps and the human experiments conducted by Nazi physician Josef Mengele.
So, what do I gather from this? We live in a society where there are demographics with a fascination with evil, where evil and magic are intertwined. Interestingly enough Jehovah's Witnesses aren't the only ones to point out the obvious when it comes to parenting.
CafeMom: Parents are you listening to the lyrics in your kids music?
Many people who listen to this music claim that they don't really listen to the lyrics, and that they only really like the music. The lyrics do make their way into the conscious and subconscious of the listener, and will influence their attitudes, perspectives, and emotions if they don't consciously screen and qualify them. The real fact is that once having heard or seen something, you can't unhear or unsee it, and it will leave an impression one way or another.
