I am not balding at all, but I shave my head off about 2 times a month. I just do not like to comb my hair.

I started shaving it off about 3 years ago, and wish I had done it years earlier. It just feels better and I think I look better as well. I keep a full beard, closely trimmed.

Not that anyone here would care what they think, but did I read here somewhere that shaved heads on white guys in the Borg is frowned upon? I could definately see them pressuring someone if they let them.

If a man doesn't have a nicely shaped head, shaving his head will be a mistake. Baldness, with some hair, looks better on some guys than other.
There is an option you didn't mention. Like Alan Rachins in the show Dharma and Greg, a man can wear his hair long and neatly pulled into a ponytail. He should have gentleman's sideburns and goatee is optional. I'll try to find a picture.
