" How do people know that they're part of the Faithful and Discreet Slave Class?"

Because they TELL everyone they are! heh

AND that Christ told 'em "Well Done!" in 1919....heh

(For WHAT no one knows; they were only just STARTING!)

Read Don Cameron's "Captives of a Concept" - it will answer all your questions about the filthful and disgraceful slavebugger as WTwizard would say.

They are doing the job! thats the point. How are overseers chosen?

By a giant hand reaching down from heaven?

    Or by

    Qualifying as per scriptural directives?

By having shepherds/overseers we follow the bible directive on this but they are held accountable for that job if they choose to take the mantle.

    Hebrews 13:17
Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.

Our Overseers do their Job and it's one of the reasons I am a witness. I have no interest in religions with leaders that enjoy all the money, pomp and ceremony, jewels and private planes without doing any of the bible assigned work of feeding/rebuking/guiding/teaching the sheep.

It's easy to watch and critisise from the sidelines if your not doing the work. but that doesn't change that you are not doing the work.

Strange that the FD&S would be so lying and conniving with their publishing company that they own !

The watchtower do just that to every other religious authority, so why shouldn't they be criticised when they have a history of lies, deception and false prohesying.

    Hi cantleave

Respectfully I don't agree with any of your points.

Then you should start looking at watchtower history. There are numerous false prophecies, there are many lies, including the one I have asked you answer tonight, and there is deception to prevent people from finding out about the lies and false prophecies. You may say you are being respectful about disagreeing with my points but I have no respect for you, since you are supporting a dangerous and malevolent cult which is responsible for bloodshed and misery across the world.

I believe that having a hairy penis will soon be all the qualification elders will need.

A very typical Witness response...that of comparing ones self to the worst example possible, in order to prove they are doing the right thing.

And talk about critisising from the sideline....most Witnesses have never been in a church or have been allowed to look into any other religion other than what we were told about them from Headquarters. And yet they have already decided that without fail, every last one of them are to be destroyed at Armegeddon. From the society's publications, we heard about only the worst examples out there, we never heard about any of the good they are doing or even considered it could be possible. Also, they kept their own flaws quiet and made themselves appear to be without reproach. A lot of Witnesses want their ears "tickled" by their religion...same as everybody else.

    Hi cantleave

You have to be inspired of God to do prophecies! we have never claimed inspiration. We take our understandings from already written Bible prophecies and chronology. I have discussed this indepth already on this site and find it hard to understand that you would still believe what is obviously a made-up wrongdoing to put at witnesses door?

I tested all the religions by the bible itself and Jehovah's witnesses stood out uniquely.

Why would you assume I have no experience of other churches? I have had quite a bit of contact with other churches in my life and find them too immersed in trinitarian exegesis or Christ worship ever be considered options. Jehovah's Witnesses fulfill biblical requirement of what the flock (and those who are shepherds from among the flock until Jesus's return) are doing in this time biblically as our God and father Jehovah's People. They let the bible explain itself and follow it's instructions as Jehovah's word. Witness shepherds show a dedication to the bible directives to instruct, teach, rebuke the flock that I have seen nowhere else. In christendom's religions, I see either a lack of shepherds not noticiable because they leave the flock directionless or too noticiable in their enjoyment of lifes luxuries at the flocks expense. Jesus gave specific instruction to our shepherds and I only see the witnesses doing this.

    Matthew 18:16-21 (New International Version)

16 But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' [a] 17 If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

18 "I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be [b] bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be [c] loosed in heaven.

19 "Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

We use verse 19 a lot but it's context is instruction on how to keep the flock clean and the authority given by Jesus for our shepherds to do this. He clearly gives a certain automony of handling these situations saying his father God will stick by it.
