I'm sorry but I really take offense to that, not that I imagin for a minute that you give a shit, but weather you believe someone to be anointed or not it isn't fair to attack everyone based on your bad expeirences. My mom is anointed has been for more than 50 years, I don't care weather you believe it as real or not but she is not nor has she ever been anything but nice and careing and I could only wish to have as many friends as she has accumulated over the years JWs AND NON JWS alike. You may hate the JW doctrines but remember the people who believe in them have family who love them dearly and to say they all crawl into holes 364 days a year is pretty cheap.

Hi Stevie: In the Christian religion (outside the WTS) anointing is just one of many ways that Christians are view by God. It aplies to all Christians, just as the term adopted children of God, Royla Priesthood, and many other terms. It does not make any Christian special or set apart from other Christians ... they all equally share in such things.

I posterd the following article on the Watchtower official policy regarding anointed which was stated in the 1952 WT, and the Society has never recinded or denounced this policy ... that it is up to each JW to decide for themselves if they want to be anointed. I believe that the Society did a great diservice to its members with their mythology about their "Anointed." The above article quotes the entire 52 Wt article, and contains my commentary. I think that the whole Watchtower concept, as believed and practiced today, is a joke on the JWs. The article is not too long. If you read it, let me know what you think.

I don't get this aNnointed stuff.
Now John the Baptist baptized with the water of the river Jordan, all the while saying that another would come after him and baptize with Holy Spirit.
Jesus was baptized with the Holy Spirit, as well as conceived. Everyone there saw it and believed.
Did Jesus actually baptize others?
Is there scripture to show that the apostles were baptized before the last supper?
Does "annointed" mean annointed with Holy Spirit? thereby entitling them to drink of the cup?
I thought the "Helper" came to the apostles after the resurrection, yet they did partake at the last supper and accept the command of "do this in memory of me"
The Role of the Spirit as the Helper is seen in the gospel of John 14:16-21 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;......... In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.......
Gal 15:21-26..."When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of Truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me, ......
Gal 16: 7 "...for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you."

Is this the Spirit of the annointed?

Just out in left field for a sec. My sons accompanied me to the last memorial. They usually don't attend. Anyway my oldest son fell asleep during the services and the person sitting next to him nudged him to wake up and pass the plate of unlevend bread, He woke up took the plate and said "Oh thanks" and started eating it. I was a bit embarrasing.

This WT line of thinking goes against the gospel - or the "good news of the kingdom"
Col 3:2 SET YOUR MIND on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

One would be smart to re-read WT definition of the HOPES offered by their printing company, then read the gospels of the bible and decided for themselves which hope they choose.

This to me is a disgusting thing standing in the holy place. Leading sincere people who love God to death, taking away the hope offered thru Christ and replacing it with doctrines of men.

My great-grandfather was "annointed" as was his wife. She became an "evil-slave."

He was a cold, uncaring bastard. He had no interest in anything except preaching. He encouraged us, his family, to shun his wife, because she had "given up Jehovah."

She, my old great-grandmother came to the few family gatherings she was allowed to attend and had to sit by herself in a corner. Because we were children, being called an "evil-slave" did not encourage us to go up and talk to her or get to know her.

When she died, my great-grandfather did not come to her funeral. His son, who never became a JW did, all the great-grandkids, and grand-daughters. That was it. Not one JW came.

This is no way to treat someone you were married to for over 60 years. Which begs the question: Why did an annointed person remain married to an evil-slave? My mother cannot answer. Her response was he was being nice because people of that generation did not divorce.

Crap. If your spiritual prinipals are so important how could you lay in bed with that person.

This made me realize he was a cold hearted bum who needed someone to cook and clean for him.

I do not think he is in heaven. If there is a hell, he is in it!
