Good Morning All,

I posted that last night before I went to bed and was very surprised by the response overnight.

Thank you,... and this was a great way to wake up with a laugh, some funny comments....thanks again!

I do indeed have some stories to unload for the years in the cult. It took me way too long to realize it is a cult. I have a friend who spent a few years in bethel. We've been friends since the early 80's and he is no longer in it either. He had his eyes opened when he was there and afterward. He said something to me, that I thought was profound. He said nobody knows what it's like to be in a cult, except the cultist. That hit me hard, because average people do not understand the control and mentality. We gave up so much, we have missed out on our lives.....and now i'm 48 next month and it grieves me to think about the missed job opprutunities, not to mention college because of the cult. I will have more to say about that, but for now I have to go to work, and i'm running a bit late....so for now I will leave it there and post more later.

I too faded (and my husband) for as many years as you...Does take a while to offload the garbage doesn´t it?

I´ve just found this forum and it has really helped in cutting completely away and thinking clearly about things. I wasn´t even born a JW but still it takes a while to free yourself from the brainwashing.

Robert O'Dell, thats a CO blast from the past...yes I remember him well, he was in our circuit when I was a young one....but i remember being scared sh**less of him...he questioned me about bible doctrine at a sunday WT study in front of the whole cong when I was about 10....I apparently replied correctly but that was torture to a little kid.

Hope to hear more about you, I am celebrating my 1 yr anniversary of quitting going to meetings :) I'm interested in hearing how your "fade" has gone
