The biggest one that comes to mind is their self proclamation that Christ had returned invisibly to set up his earthly kingdom

around a fraudulent unbibical calculable date of the year 1914.

The people who have studied the WTS. history from its very beginnings know that C T Russel infused the silly and

unfounded belief in Pyramidology to come up with this assertion.

From this dated year they have said over and over again until recently that mankind is living through the end times or

the last days of this system of things.

The supposed sighs of the times to verify this assumption are wrongly proposed based on known facts of human history itself.

It shouldn't be dismissed that this was and always will be a publishing house that is set up to propagate it's literature,

when you mix business with religion usually a tirade of false doctrines appear and this certainly is the case with

    this organization.

Everything they teach is subjective (subject to interpretation) and taking an opposite view will mostly get the response -- " ... well that's your view on the matter. I'll continue to choose the view of the Watchtower." Arguing with most JW's about teachings is like arguing with the chair you're sitting on.

As an earlier poster said, they've lied -- and while you will get them to concede that the Watchtower has made mistakes, you will never get them to admit lying. Lying is not subject to interpretation and the fact that they have is well documented on this forum and other similar sites.

In my opinion a lie is the deal breaker with a religion. Fact is, Watchtower publications have even said just that. Therefore, no need to waste time arguing even a single teaching once they've been shown to lie.

One example -- the publications say that they have never contradicted themselves. Well, take a look at the flip-flop teachings that are so well documented -- resurrection of the Sodomites (some 6 reversals -- yes, no, yes, no, yes, no), the Superior Authorities -- 2 reversals, and on and on.

So not only are there contradictions, they've lied about not having them.

Assuming God exists for the sake of argument...

    1. Lack of continuity/flip-flopping doctrines - if they were wrong in the past, how do you know they're right now?

    2. Failed prophecies

    3. The entire basis for the 1914 calculation - stringing together otherwise unrelated passages does not a coherent theology make.

    4. The concept of a centralized, monolithic "organization" controlling everything

    5. Washing over their statements that lack evidence with excessive use of the phrase "evidently."

    1. The FACT that a 1900 yr old slave class was on hand when russell came on the scene. Easy to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt with ABSOLUTELY no comeback. No organization is needed or provable with this reasoning.

2.Blatant teachings that have changed back and forth over 80 yrs of time...very easy to prove with only the brightest and dumbest JWs insisting the Jeh is using imperfect men so its ok.

3.THE distance between the rank and file and those in authority. For a group that teaches honesty there is a HUGE gap existing between those in the KHalls and those in Brooklyn begining with : The governing body ; NOT open to discuss anything with any rank and file'er...The governing body has NEVER existed and is made to appear to be in direct contact with Jesus. That they are spirit directed can be shown to be a pile of bullshit.

4.Being a prophet. For example 1975 was a catastophe for the JW authority at the time. Published statements about this period are brushed under the table and unknown to the rank and file...as are those regarding previous dates and the history of the organization.

    5. Armageddon: This teaching basically says, for example, that while doctors are performing life saving operations around the world on infants in countless hospitals God , Jesus, and the myriads of angels are going to Kill them all because they havent converted.

A lot more can be said of course but I usually use any of these If it comes up....
