Excellent point Inbetween!
Isn't that amazing how they know why everyone left? Did this dickhead take a poll or survey and ask everyone why they left? Or is he guilty of 'leaning on his own understanding'.
What a moron.
He must have been shocked when that WT came out that said one of the reasons people leave are because of "teachings" Actually in retrospect I'm pretty surprised they ever printed that!
Not just that, misery, but do you think some JWs commit "sins" because it is a quicker and easier way to get DFd than to face the doctrinal issues? I mean, lots of people "just know something is wrong" with the organization but haven't done the research to put their finger on it. They don't know how to leave or how to explain their desire to leave (maybe not even to themselves), so they sabotage their relationship with the Borg on purpose by going out and having an affair, or they try to self-medicate their frustration with alcohol abuse, or any other number of things that they know can get them DFd (which is what they want, either consciously or subconsciously). Do you find this happens much?
I'd say yeah, but it took me coming on here to recognize it. Those ones who sabotage themselves do it as you put it, subconsciously. so they're not even aware why they did what they did. Its really depressing to think of it in that fashion. I hate even considering it. I feel a knot in my throat while I'm typing this. I've mentioned before on here, I've questioned myself a couple times if I might be hitting the bottle more than appropriate. I'll be good for this month due to hitting the gym hardcore. Alcohol ruins the gains you make due to sugar conversion. So I'm purposely avoiding all things alcohol for the next few weeks. But there's definately times I've taken a couple pills, and alcohol to help cope. There's definately a culture of heavy drinking amongst JWs that rarely gets addressed. I guess its to be expected, its the ony way to self medicate with any dignity. To even see a Psychiatrist is viewed negatively. Its really sad.

Which article is that in?? I gotta read that!
Hey Mary, here is the article it was from, of course they don't say it is "their teachings" but rather "a scriptural teaching" so they really dont admit to what I remembered....of course when do they admit to anything so its not really a surprise.

Help Them Return Without Delay!
“Whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life.”—JOHN 6:68. Was It a Problem With a Teaching? 10 Some may have left God’s flock because they did not agree with some Scriptural teaching. The Israelites freed from Egyptian bondage “forgot [God’s] works” on their behalf and “did not wait for his counsel.” (Ps. 106:13) It may be helpful to remind an inactive one that “the faithful and discreet slave” is dispensing excellent spiritual food. (Matt. 24:45) That is how the person originally learned the truth. So why should he not be determined to walk in the truth again?—2 John 4. 11 When endeavoring to help those who have strayed from God’s flock, the elder might refer to the disciples who abandoned Jesus because of rejecting one of his teachings. (John 6:53, 66) By cutting off association with Christ and his faithful followers, they lost their spirituality and their joy. Have those who stopped associating with the Christian congregation found another place where there is rich spiritual food? No, for there is none! Was Improper Conduct Involved?
